A question for the Historians

Featured Replies

With South Warren (4A) and Bowling Green (5A) winning State Championships and both being in Warren County, I was wondering how often (if ever) does one county have two or more champions in the same season.

Thank you.

I'm pretty sure Cov Cath and Beechwood (both Kenton County) have pulled it off two or three times, and I'm sure New Cath and Highlands (both Campbell County) have had at least a couple-few as well. I also can't imagine there haven't been some Jefferson County instances over the years as well.

DeSales and Trinity last year, I think. Jefferson County could have had three over the years, not sure, though. Just by sheer number of schools and quality of play.

Danville and Boyle County have been able to do that several years

Belfry and Pikeville this year.

Needless to say, it does not occur often, But it has happened to multiple communities since the change to 6 classes

Only 4 times for what I would consider "rural" counties... Title Town 3 X and Pike County once

Don't really consider Warren, Jefferson, or NKY to be rural.

Well there are a few farms in JeffCo.

There are farms in every county, but a few farms does not make the majority of the county 'rural'.

I'm fairly confident Pep made his comment in jest.

Quite a feather in the cap for a county when it happens, lot's of local excitement and pride.
