  1. I was gonna give updates but when Ashland led by 26 early on I decided this one is all but over.
  2. I've been looking for any solid information on the mortality rate compared to other viruses and can't really come up with anything I would consider accurate. Numbers seem to be everywhere and a lot of them can't be trusted due to that, imo. The only concrete information that seems to make sense to me is the mortality rate is higher with the elderly as well as those with compromised immune systems. Which would be normal in my mind considering it takes time to figure out a working treatment, etc. It appears that there is a working vaccine even, but needs further testing to be approved for use on the general public. If crap really hit the fan though I'd imagine that vaccine would be rolled out early.
  3. I feel like Ashland wins but I'm bias hah. Lewis is playing much better ball than when these two met in the first game of the season, so indo feel like it will be much closer. I'm kinda leaning toward a 10-12 point Ashland win. Had Boyd advanced I'd consider the point spread nil. Ashland is better than Boyd imo, but it's not easy to beat a rival four times in one season, particularly when they have a solid team themselves.
  4. I have similar thoughts. If you're not in the high risk category (elderly or compromised immune system) then you'd be just as well off quarantining yourself at home and call for help and explain the situation if you don't fight it off in a reasonable amount of time. I've seen multiple interviews now with ppl that tested positive for the virus but never showed any symptoms. One guy has tested positive for over a month now, yet seems to be perfectly fine other being told that he's not.
  5. I agree. I'm not in the crowd that is in a panic mode, in fact I haven't changed anything from my regular day to day lifestyle. News media and social media have caused the panic/hysteria, imo, though I am a little surprised about the quarantine being enforced by the national guard in the NYC area. I know it's just a 1 mile radius for the quarantine but if you know anything about that area you know how close it is to Manhattan. If the island of Manhattan goes into quarantine the financial hit will be huge.
  6. I've not seen things shut down like this before. Bringing in the National Guard to lockdown neighborhoods or entire cities is a bit concerning though.
  7. Ashland has their focus back and they are healthy. Its gonna take a really good team to beat them, imo. A few weeks ago I would have said different. This team was battling time off from games due to the flu, their own injuries and health issues. They seem to be running at 100% now though and at 100% they can beat anyone in the state.
  8. Porter is doing a good job recognizing the defense. Several times he has known he could beat his defensive assignment to the basket and has ran isolation plays to do so. Also thanks for the updates @DevilMayCare
  9. Beechwood wasn't what people thought they were. I noticed it the first time I watched them play then followed them after to see if things changed. They didn't.
  10. Russell has a really good team and they have progressed as this season has went on. Ashland just has a special team at this point in time.
  11. While Russell has been playing good ball a lot of people felt like this may be an upset. Imo, the chance to upset this Ashland team has passed. The team that beats them is just gonna be a better team than they are.
  12. Makes sense. A lot of these severe weather systems seem to really intensify during the afternoon hours in the midwest or Gulf areas and either move east or northeast our direction. Generally they would be losing strength by the time they get here during the nightime hours, but it makes sense that is the reason we get more of them at night.
  13. They, Kansas City or another midwestern city would have been my guess as well. Just seems from memory that Nashville has had some bad ones. Maybe I just notice those more due to Nashville being closer to home.
  14. Is it just me or does Nashville seem to get hit by these more often than most large cities?
  15. Saw that with the Cantrall rankings. With a 72.9 Ashland likely isn't even close to the top 25 lol. Sounds like bulletin board material to me. But that's for another thread.
  16. I can see both sides of it. With some of the regional sites being an hour away from some of the top teams in the region I can understand breaking the games up into different facilities so more people can actually attend. Then on the other hand you may have some of the best teams meeting in the opening round, as well as some teams playing at the same time if they don't schedule around doing that. But in the 16th region for instance, Morehead is about an hour drive from the Ashland/BC/Russell/Raceland etc areas, which is also where most people in the 16th region live and work. That poses a problem for fans in that area who have to work. Especially considering this season the games are all weekday games with some starting at 6:30pm.
  17. Does anyone know the formula for the NET rankings? Obviously computers aren't bias, but this formula certainly seems flawed.
  18. Yup. We had onions in the chili so I didn't add those. But yes to the others as well as hot sauce and sour cream occasionally. I was really impressed with how this turned out.
  19. We didn't do chilli for national chili day but we did have some last night. More less made a traditional style but added a can of skyline meat sauce to it. I was surprised at how much that one can changed the flavor. We used ground beef and sausage for the homemade meats. Chilli powder, beans, onions, tomatoes etc. I'm a fan of cinci chilli as well as traditional style but this turned out to be a really good blend between the two.
  20. Yeah. If I were Russell I'd hit the paint hard. Lewis is in love with the three but not really hitting them. Drive and make them pay.
  21. Porter possibly. But I have no insight on that, just a possibility that it happens. I wouldn't necessarily say soon though. But with Huntington Prep right down the road it's certainly a possibility.
