  1. Turns out you had it right even if you didn't mean to hah. Restaurants and such are now offering alcohol to go.
  2. I feel like once it crosses the 21-21k mark there will be a minor correction that brings it back down to around where it is today. Then it's likely off to the races for a while.
  3. It damn near is martial law. The whole "shelter in place" term seems to be to ease people's minds.
  4. Can't trust those numbers at all.
  5. I'm in good shape if Kentucky follows those same guidelines then.
  6. You've been out at the bars and such lately. So maybe at a later date haha.
  7. I imagine the oddsmaker knew what he was doing when he set that number and it's not a bad number when you consider comparing it to other viruses we deal with on a regular basis. Going back to that though I believe the response to this particular virus will stop it well before it hits the betting line.
  8. I get that, but we would be assuming someone on a two man crew was infected to begin with. Otherwise the only thing other than equipment on the trucks that would ever have to be touched is a gas pump. For what it's worth I'm not disagreeing with you because I don't believe its essential work at this time myself. Just saying that it is a business that could do their job with very minimal contact with anything or anyone else if organized properly.
  9. I was being selfish. But in all honesty we could do the job without any face to face or hand to hand transactions with customers. A crew of two could do jobs without ever coming into contact with anyone to be honest.
  10. I don't think we will ever really know, but with the numbers we're given I'll take the under.
  11. It's not gonna happen. Tennessee or here in Kentucky, anywhere else in the nation for that matter. The logistics of it just don't make sense.
  12. For those that think a shutdown may be the precedence going forward after this is over. Are you thinking about the financial impact this will have on all of us, the government included? I just don't see it becoming the new normal, for that reason alone. Doing this when absolutely needed is and then recovering from it is a bit different than doing this when it's not actually needed. It's not something you can do over and over and expect the stay financially stable as a whole.
  13. Try holding it right where the magnetic swipe reader is. It works with samsung pay no matter how outdated the machine is, unless the machine is setup to run everything as credit, like drive thru's. I've used it at stores and as the cashier has noticed what I was doing they would tell me that it won't work on their machine, then to their surprise it does. It could just be samsung pay that works that way though, I've never used apple pay.
  14. The machines that are setup to run everything as credit instead of giving you the option of credit/debit don't ask for your pin. Drive thru's and such are typically setup that way but it would be easy for the merchants to setup all of their machines that way.
  15. I think that's more of a case by case scenario depending on the individual's financial situation before this hit. But in general it's not a bad rule of thumb. I mean I don't need beer or bourbon to survive but I'll still be drinking it. I've ran some numbers and the money my family will save due to the country essentially being shut down we will quite possibly be saving more money than usual during this. My income is going to take a bit of a hit until this is over but my better half has been told she will receive her same pay on salary, though bonuses will be effected. That said no one knows whether the economy rebounds quickly after this or if it takes a long time, so in general it's a good time for anyone who is able to do so to save as much as they can. Just my quick take on it.
  16. You should be able to use it pretty much anywhere then.
  17. Oh I know, I was just trying to add a little humor to the situation from Deuce's comment from yesterday.
  18. I believe @TheDeuce said they would be offering drive thru services.
  19. I've found that with Samsung pay if the merchant doesn't have a newer machine that that uses rfid to read the phone you can actually hold the phone near the magnetic swipe reader and it will work. Not sure if Apple pay is the same or not.
  20. I've been using Samsung pay to avoid contact with the machine as much as possible. Generally I'd enter my pin and run the transaction as debit, but lately I've been running everything as credit so I only have to touch the screen once.
  21. I'm not much of a gambler. But yes, there will be people gamble on the numbers you mentioned with this.
  22. Most are looking at it like "it's not gonna kill me" rather than thinking about the long term impact. We have two kids in high school and while they understand it, they also know that our family will be fine financially, though it is gonna hurt for a while. But I'm not sure they really grasp how negatively it will effect some and I doubt they will understand that until they see it happen to people they know.
