  1. NCC has a proud tradition of taking on all comers. One down season (and it is not over yet, so it can still turn around) should not be a factor in keeping traditional rivalries alive for the Breds.
  2. Why would anything in a coach's personal life have anything to do with his performance as a coach? Why would some parents in FT feel like they have the right to drag dirty laundry into a situation like this? Let the man coach, sit back and enjoy your kid's soccer season. They only get a few years of this, stay positive and let them enjoy these few seasons without the parent injected drama.
  3. I am not minimizing their effort, just pointing out hypocrisy.
  4. Very well played game by both squads. NKY Frosh football looks to be very balanced this year, which bodes well for the years ahead!
  5. In one of your earlier posts, you point out that in your opinion, the score in this game could have easily been 4 or 5 to zero because of missed opportunities by the Bluebirds. But you fail to mention that in the game against Notre Dame, the score could have easily been 4 or 5 to one due to missed opportunities by the Pandas.
  6. Pretty sure it was #72, big kid. I noticed #73, Dunn too. I overheard some HHS fans saying that some of the kids have different home and away jersey numbers.
  7. #6 for Cooper and #72 for HHS both had nice games.
  8. Both of these teams are going to be just fine this season. It is very early yet.
  9. It has happened, and not too far back, as I remember.
  10. I agree with you, but it is entertaining!
  11. I would tend to agree for the most part. however, there are some high school kids that try out for the soccer team on a lark, having never played competitive soccer, and there are some kids who, even though they may know how to play the game, are just not good soccer players. In your scenario, if even one middle schooler makes a team, the coach is obligated to not cut the upper classman. Should a coaching staff be forced to keep a player like this?
  12. 8th graders are middle schoolers. So the questions should be, were there enough 8th and 9th graders available to form a full freshman squad with some 9th graders playing JV or Varsity? and, were any 8th graders or 9th graders cut to accommodate the 7th graders? Out of curiosity, have any 8th graders ever made JV or Varsity at HHS?
  13. HHS is a public school. Only out of district kids would be tuition paying. In most years, it would be difficult for them to field a Freshman team without middle schoolers being allowed to play. I doubt that any freshmen were cut to accommodate 7th or 8th graders and I highly doubt that any 7th or 8th graders made the JV or varsity squads.
  14. Maher Rankings | Girls 08-24-14key1 geo1 | key6, geo1 | key3, geo1 Hey Camel, this should raise your eyebrows.
  15. A couple of drive by bashings on this thread concerning Highlands. Anyone care to elaborate on their statements? I have heard nothing but positive things about the new coach until reading this thread.
  16. Great to see BB was able to get this team together for the season. How many are on the roster?
  17. Sacred Heart loses to #8 West Jessamine 2-1 Wednesday night.
  18. Why the jab at Conservative news? Because some have no filter. Why the talk about the player? Likely because she is one of the best high school age players in the area that would have been a huge contributor to her team had she played. Plus, it is the only interesting thing to talk about until the games begin.
  19. Is it possible she does not wish to represent her school? Her choice, who are you to criticize it?
  20. Perhaps, but the original question was about local high school athletes and the responses have all been about local high school athletes. I think the thread is well placed. Does anyone know if the NKY players on the OE high school roster are playing for their respective NKY high school teams as well as for OE, this season?
  21. I see a couple NKY kids on that High School Roster.
  22. Any key players, boys side or girls that have decided to play summer club ball instead of high school ball this year? This is becoming a trend in other areas, but not so much in NKY from what I have seen.
  23. I'm betting that the parents have more say in where their kids attend school than do the girls. I'd also bet that the excellent, faith based education is the criteria the parents use most often. You would not see these families moving to Newport, or paying tuition to get their kids into Newport High School even if they had the top soccer team in NKY.
  24. Please clarify. Are you saying they are attending NDA only because they want to play soccer there?
  25. Are there any local standouts that will forgo high school ball this season and concentrate on their club teams?
