  1. I've seen all the above.^^^ Only saw one coach calling pitches with all the hand motions, arm brushes, hat-nose-ear touches, etc etc, like he was coaching 3rd. It was a production... Last year, a team from Ohio, JV game. I was BS'ing with him between innings and commented that I had never seen anyone calling pitches like that. He laughed. Then explained that he's not calling the pitches that way. It's a distraction. Their rival had taken the time to get their signals. So while everyone is watching the performance, the ones that NEED TO are watching HIS FEET!
  2. Initially she was, but is at TMC and retired from softball.
  3. Only lawnboy would use a softball reference in a soccer thread
  4. They do... But us outsiders don't get invited to that
  5. @sproles08 surrendered his key to the BirdFeeder... But his $$ is always welcome at the concession stand!
  6. Wasn't it the same one for EVERY game?
  7. @Lawnboy13 Suggest that they add insect repellent at the concession stand. I bet they would sell a ton at baseball and soccer games.
  8. I'm glad CovCath doesn't have a softball team!
  9. I don't think there is a blanket rule to be applied. There are plenty of times where I thought "good god! someone please shut them up!" And times where I'm glad they are loud because it drowns out the obnoxious spectators. Times where the cheers are forced, and don't sound like they mean it. Other times I could applaud the girls for continuing (enthusiastically) even though they are about to get 4th inning run ruled. I'd say it is a function of the kids on field and on the bench, the coach(es), program, importance of game, day of the week, etc etc... The team collective mental state and attitude changes day to day. So if it's working for the kids, let'em yell... (and maybe supply earplugs for the fans)
  10. Just saw on twitter: IMMEDIATE OPENING FOR GIRLS SOCCER COACH Interested applicants for the coaching position should contact AD Jimmy Ryan at [email protected]. Twitter Looks like they actually announced it on 17th: Coach Turnick to step down as coach of girls’ soccer. Principal Dawn “We are losing a great soccer coach & wish Kevin nothing but the best”
  11. Tough enough for schools that make runs in football... Starting earlier makes that even worse.
  12. Saw on twitter that he's a hilltopper. PER WBKO channel 13
  13. Maybe my dad and in-laws had trouble written on their face. They were asked at the top of the section each time they went in.
  14. Does the reserved seating throughout impact attendance? Keeping away the less than totally dedicated fan? As I looked around during the semis and the final, there were plenty of empty seats in the center sections on both sides. But the ones available to purchase were up in the corners. I'm told they were fairly militant about checking tickets to make sure you were in the right section, row, and seat... not moving down, etc. A couple of family members (2 adult & a toddler) of mine didn't go to final because they weren't going to be able to sit with the rest of the family. So I was wondering how many people may go online to purchase tickets, see where the available seats are and say, nah, I'll stay home and watch blah blah ncaa tourney. Maybe a combination of a few sections of reserved seating and some sections of general admission/festival seating???
  15. Good luck to the Jags, especially #20 Blaine Walters (sister in law's nephew)...
  16. Then I totally missed it!
  17. Did they have it? I saw some messages either Friday night or Saturday morning with practice times for Saturday. I took that to mean that there as no scrimmage, but nothing explicitly stated so...
  18. Why doesn't anyone want to sit near you? Typing too loud? @Lawnboy13
  19. Don't kiss up to him... He'll still post the updates.
