  1. Morgan from Ryle is back and will be in this conversation.
  2. This makes no sense. NCC beat Ryle and Scott head to head but is ranked below both. NCC is clearly a better team than both IMO.
  3. I stand corrected. Its Braken County that has caught HHS on the tail end of a back to back. Scott is on the front end.
  4. Agreed. If I'm an SK opponent, I pack in the zone and make sure I block out on the rebounds. So far, this has not been a good 3 point shooting team, although, I have noticed a lot of opportunities passed up. One thing I will say is that court at NCC looks very small to me which plays into slowing down the tempo. I bet when NCC plays in the regionals against very athletic teams, they will not have that advantage because of the larger court.
  5. Scott got SK on the back end of a back to back and now Highlands? Fortunate scheduling!
  6. I can echo this comment. I was surprised, even shocked, that the D2 offers were so much better than the FCS offers. All we heard from the FCS schools was "We don't want to spend a full scholarship on an OL". On the other hand, the D2 schools seemed desperate for good linemen. There is also a lot to be said for smaller schools with smaller class size. Plus the opportunity to compete for immediate playing time is there.
  7. Why were they not on the bench? there was only one injured player on the bench.
  8. NCC had the same player out that did not dress for the Highland's game. Only one out.
  9. This was such a good game, it needs two threads!
  10. This game went back and forth for the whole 2nd half. NCC frustrated SK by controlling the tempo with patient offense and a 3-2 zone. SK turned over NCC about 4 times late and that was the difference.
  11. Officials at the HS level have too much to process as it is. When they can get charge/block calls right 50% of the time, then maybe we can consider the additional burden of a shot clock!
  12. Can someone from a small school program weigh in please? One thing to consider is that most programs, unlike college, do not play on Sundays. Trying to negotiate schedules with 29 other partners can result in weeks when you have 4 games, and others where you have one.
  13. I don't follow the boys game. Do the boys have players that play both JV and significant Varsity roles? Do they cross levels like they do in the girl's game? Girls programs don't seem as deep to me. Am I mistaken?
  14. After watching girl's bb for about 5 years now, I'm beginning to wonder if a 30 game schedule is excessive. Given the participation crossover between JV and Varsity, I see a lot of players that on the tail end of back to back games, just do not have it in the gas tank. Big kids especially. Granted, at the state tournament, you are playing back to back, but that is only varsity. Also,if you are playing a game as the tail end of a back to back, you are at an extreme disadvantage if your opponent is not.
  15. I noticed Ally had 33 out of 60 points. Its very usual for SK not to have balanced scoring. Did Boone do something to take Maddie and Maggie out of the game some how?
  16. About 5 years ago I asked a lot of questions similar to the title of this thread. I could not believe that HHS could have so much success with home grown players only. My feelings were cemented when I took a look at a lot of their kids and found that they were not for the most part the athletic specimens you would see on a Trinity or Male. Public forums like this make it nearly impossible for the transfer or relocation of a talented player into the district of a particular school a secret. I have not heard of one in 5 years on here.
  17. Anybody have any details on this one? I had to miss it. Thanks!
  18. Nice to see the Lady Neers get their feet back. Walton played hard the entire game despite getting close to running clock territory.
  19. I believe Walton is getting some kids back healthy. SK had a stretch of 5 games in 8 days, now a week in between games. Some of those games were not that well played. Was it regression or tired legs?
  20. I think it needs to be somebody young and somebody who has ties to the area, and ties to BC Pee Wee. This is job you have to be able to commit 8-10 years to turn around. The prospects for short term success are dim. A Boone Alumni perhaps?
  21. What kind of zone is HC playing? Are they switching it up?
  22. Is a 6'3" receiver running a 4.7 40 better off playing basketball, or , speed training????????
  23. We will have to agree to disagree. Ask any recruiter and they will tell you if they don't have the measureables, they could play 6 sports , and it would not matter. I also believe that unless you are a track athlete, taking the spring off to participate in spring football helps you get prepared for camp season. IMO, wrestling and track are the only sports that helps football athletes prepare for evaluation. Like I said in my original post, if you have all the measurables, then go right ahead and play multiple sports. If you don't have the measureables, then playing multiple sports is not going to further your football career aspirations.
