I have to say that this team has far exceeded my expectations. Great job by the coaching staff (except Gambill ). I think it is also important to note the contributions made by Abby Dundin, Lindsey Adkins, Maria Friley and Kelsey Hammond. They really stepped up and contributed.

Who were the officials?

I thought it was Mrs. Smokeandmirror's.

I meant to post earlier but have been kind of busy. Great comeback by Ashland lead by a huge 2nd half by McDavid and clutch plays by Thomas. I have to apologize to Alex Barker. I didn't think it was possible but I actually underestimiated what he meant to his team. I think he is without question the best ballhandler in the region but what makes him different is his presence of mind. Last night in the last 30 seconds of regulation he made one of the smartest basketball plays you will ever see. When Thomas stole the imbounds pass and had a sure layup to tie the score Barker gave up a foul that Fairview had to give. It stopped the breakout and made Ashland take the ball out of bounds. I would say there are very few kids who would have recognized the situation.

Once again everyone, including us at Rose Hill, have to remember that kids change a bunch between their freshman and senior years.

Kenny Zeigler is their coach?

I really don't have the words at this point to tell you how much I enjoyed this post. I think you have to have a son yourself to understand.

I couldn't possibly feel worse for a kid than I do right now.

Ashland wins by 10+, Mike Polley gets another "T", and won't be dressed near as well as Rickyp was last night.

Strike3 is right. Lets keep one open for a change.

I think people forget that kids change dramatically between their freshmen and junior years. Most teams don't play a bunch of freshman and half of Rose Hill's roster is freshmen or younger.

I think it deserves mention that at least two of those 12 threes were in desperation. Selby did a great job defending last night. The referees let the players play and that certainly allows Selby to use everyone of those 300lbs. Now don't read into that as me complaining about the officials, I thought the game was well called and very consistent. Given the choice it is exactly the kind of game the Rose Hill staff would have wanted called. It's funny how that nobody has mention that outside of Euton and Jackson the rest of the team was 1-17 from the floor. Those guys usually shoot much better than that. Malloy and Fuller are very good shooters. It was just one of those games.

I have a great deal of respect for the Ashland players and coaches. I wish them the best. As far as developing players the kids at Rose Hill will get better with age. Guys like Mike Terry, Mike Davis, Nate Quackenbush, Robbie Barber,Tyler Gilbert, and Scott Gambill should be further along physically next season.

I want to address this "Euton shooting them out of the game" nonsense. He went 4 miniutes without a shot in the 3rd quarter. It is my recollection that he took one bad shot the entire second half. Sometimes they don't fall but he was largely responsible for the lead that Rose Hill had for 3 quarters.

This one really hurts. Rose Hill had a couple of chance to create space in the 3rd quarter and failed to convert. As bad as it hurts I am happy for Coach Pratt. He is a fine man and he deserves a trip to Morehead. I will never forget his graciousness last season during the tragedy involving David Garnes. I know I speak for several Rose Hillers when I wish him luck the rest of the way. And Tubby Smith should resign from UK. I just had to get that in.

That is sort of true. Rose Hill didn't want to open the season with Elliott which was somewhat of a tradition. Elliott had no where to move Rose Hill so they looked elsewhere. I will agree that Elliott is not a ducker.

It is interesting that the same people who say that Euton and Jackson are not in the top 5 players in the region will also say the Fraley coaches a lot of talent. :confused: So which is it? If Vanhoose, Daniels, Ferguson, McDavid, Thomas, Ethan Faulkner, Evan Faulkner, Barker, and Selby are better then Fraley is hands down the COY.

Not to mention The Marshall County Hoops Fest, King of the Bluegrass, a shootout in Nicholasville, Morgan County, Boone Co., Lexington Christian, and possibly Louisville Ballard. But Gatorlover you and I know that no matter who Rose Hill plays there will always be those who take shots at them. Wait till we really start winning, then it will get seriously ugly.

The cancelled game was rescheduled for today. Bellevue called in December in an attempt to cancel the orgional date and Rose Hill refused. Then it snowed and now they have a conference game they have to play. If you ask me Bellevue has not dealt with Rose Hill is a very honest manner. We made they trip and they wouldn't follow through with the return visit, period.
