Back to the game. It should be a good game with Cooper pulling out the win.

The best Boone has looked all year is when they played Bourbon County in the preseason game. That game seemed like a lot of other kids got to play and looked pretty good. Most of the kids that looked good in that game don't see the field in the reg season. The game against Ryle, Boone first possesion they were marching it down the field w/ # 45 busting a hole threw Ryle's line and # 5 following him for 5-7 yard at a time picking up a couple of first downs. I might be wrong, but I don't think # 45 seen the field the rest of the game and the running game was negative in yards the rest of the game. Another thing that would help Boone is to coach a kid how to properly tackle. It seemed Boone thought it was a two hand touch game. In the past, I have seen posters complaining about Ryle having too many parents of players as coaches on the team. Does Ryle have parents of players still coaching its football team? What is your thought on having parents as coaches. I believe it isn't good at the high school level. What I have seen over the years, the parent / coaches talk it is all about the team, but a lot of times the actions don't back this up. Could this be hampering Boone?

I believe Champions have a couple of leagues. One is open to any player and one league is called Cincinnati Elite. The player needs to be nominated by his high school coach and the player will get an invite from Champions.

There is no mound in the picture of the new turf, Are they going to cut in a dirt mound? That would make the field real nice.

Is there a backup date if it gets rained out?

What type of pitching WJ using? By the low scoring of the Birds, I would guess low velo.

From what I heard last year, Yes, but his bat got him more playing time this season it seems.

Last year's POY was verbally committed before the season and besides the big bat, he was one of the toughest pitchers in the region. Ramey is a very nice hitter, but no where the complete player like Ganns.

The list could go on and on of players deserving to be on list.

Are the Region 9 awards based on tournament or season performance or both?

I think both teams are different, weather and field conditions are different so definitely can not gauge anything on the last meeting. Billig (sp) for Ryle hasn't pitched yet in the tourney. I think he would be a great matchup against the birds, plus they have lonnermann and several arms to throw if needed. Highland posters have done a great job of promoting the birds depth, but you might find out, they are not sitting much above Ryle. Good luck to both teams. Still think if Ryle goes slow on the mound, Birds might end up on the short side

Boone's game plan of giving the birds a healthily diet of off speed pitching worked effectively of shutting down a powerful fastball hitting team. It wasn't till late in the game where the birds started making hard contact and I think that was on little harder throws. If Ryle can keep Higlands off balanced at the plate , I think you will see another close game with Ryle having a good chance of taking down the birds.

Great job Rebels!!!! Didn't end the way we wanted it to , but great ride Boone. Definitely made people take notice. Special thanks to the departing seniors . You have left your mark at Boone and will not be forgotten.
