BGHS Freshman team get their first loss of season as well as first points scored against them (26). Give credit for them going to play the privates in Tennessee. Remember, Brentwood Academy has more students than vast majority of all of our schools AND they're all male students. In order to be at your best you at least have to play the best. Good effort Purple Frosh!

Way too early to think about (I will call it wishful thinking) but I am 99% sure Covington Catholic will be playing in week 14; I would love to see them play the Purples the day after Thanksgiving. Purples has to get a lot ( a whole lot) done to make that happen but man what a game and special atmosphere that would be.

Seems a little harsh. Notice I said, "IMO." Yes; Owensboro did stay pace with total yardage with Purples. Would have had more if they didn't turn ball over. Heck, everyone is going to get yardage on Purples this year. We certainly all have right to our opinions. I just feel that South Warren and Bowling Green can beat Christian County and Owensboro. I don't see the harm in that statement. Is the statement accurate? Maybe, maybe not. I guess time will tell. If Christian County waxes Owensboro Friday night (and they might), I think the game that BG and/or South plays against them will be a great game. Again, just my thoughts. Chill out my man. Great work P88. I don't see any eye-opening games outside of Owensboro and Christian County. If Owensboro pulls out a "W," or the game goes down to the wire, I think the first team (South Warren or BGHS) that plays Christian County in the playoffs will take care of business (IMO). One thing 5A fans pretty much knows for sure is that Cov Cath will be a tough out. Arguably their best team in many years. It will be a fun November!

I feel this will be a very telling game for other 5A teams to take notice of. If this game is a nail biter I believe that a particular team that wears Purple and Gold will have some questions answered. I predict Red Devils get the win. Nail Biter

Purples QB Beau BuCANNON went 12-14 with 320 yards, 4 TDs and 0 interecptions against Greenwood this past Friday night. After 6 games, BuCANNON has thrown for 1,157 yards, 10 TDs with 0 interceptions. He is right close to 62% completion rate so far this year. With hardest part of the season behind him he may very well be above 65% completion rate by end of regular season. Purples fans knew going into year that this could be the year of some tough losses. Beau is getting better and more confident each week. I know with each game he seems to becoming his own person. Following QBs like Clark Payne and Devin Hayes would be tough on anyone. Beau is having a super start to the year. I for one think he too is going to be a special player for the Purple and Gold. Great job Beau; keep working!

Purples get running clock in 3rd quarter. D Line had some starters out. Vito Tisdale only touched ball once on kickoff return. Took it to the house. Beau Bucannon, BG QB, with his best game to date. Hit several receivers. 4TD passes. No interceptions. Video game like numbers. 2 easy games coming up with Fall Break squeezed in the middle. Hoping to get all starters back on field. Good game Purples!

Final Purples cruise. Gators use play clock well Purples get through game with NO INJURIES

Great job, P88. I think the running clock games will be common thread till post- fall break in several games. Just wanting players from across Bluegrass to heal up before it's show time. Seems like injuries are plentiful this season. Part of the game but you hate it for the kids, especially Seniors

Tisdale and Dingle. You can't make this stuff up. Hoping they are both ok. I won't speculate but overall team is in need of more bandaids.

Final. Purples take care of business but can't escape injury bug. I've actually never seen anything like it for Purples. Trusting they can heal, soon!

Little Purples move to 4-0. I believe in 4 wins no team has yet to score on them. Give South Warren credit, they agreed to play Purples on 48 hour notice. Young Purples are good but what is exciting is they seem to be getting better.

New scoreboard at BGHS will get a workout Friday night. More important than margin of Victory. NO INJURIES! For either team. Purples need to get healthy!

No coach change yet. This 2 or 3 year downward spiral was seen by the former coach. I truly believe that. Doesn't matter who they get now. Another couple of seasons and then they will start the climb back up the hill.

I guess my statement was a bit too strong. Number 5 for OHS is real deal. Good looking athlete. My point was that in each of the major positions, BG "seemed" like they were a step ahead. Respect for OHS, not intentional statement

Closer than I had predicted.

Red Devils certainly didn't help themselves with turnovers and injuries but the difference between Red Devils and PRP speed = no comparison. Red Devils vs St X size = not even close. Testament to how good Purples teams of recent years have been in beating all of those Louisville teams. Purples seem to outmatch Owensboro at pretty much every position, except QB. Although BG scored 48, Vito Tisdale only carried ball maybe 7 or 8 times. Still had over 100 all purpose yards with 2 TDs. I know 5A has a small handful of good teams and maybe a couple of great teams but tonight was a good litmus test for Purples. Time to coast for a couple of weeks with running clocks. Purples need to heal up some. BGHS is more banged up now than they have been in several years. These games coming up should help Purples should keep getting better. They will make a run for it this year again for the ring. Teams better get Purples this year. They're going to be pretty dog gone good again next season Good win tonight!

I didn't get to go to this one, Guru. I know the Freshman BG team has a handful of good players with 3 or 4 really good athletes.
