Vito Tisdale, just got offered from University of Oklahoma earlier today

I will venture to say that perhaps no team in the bluegrass will miss a player more than Greenwood will miss Jackson Adams. I believe No other player last year, across the state accounted for more offense than Mr Adams.

Vito Tisdale (BG Purples) has just been rated the #4 national recruit for Safeties in America. What makes this impressive is the fact that he has not played that position at BGHS, only at the elite camps he attends. Current 4star but should make jump to 5star by conclusion of his junior year

Time will be the only determining factor of how he does but he really is an unbelievable coach. Around these neck of the woods the naysayers would say, "anyone could win with the talent he had." Anyone that knows sports, knows that is not a true statement. You can have the horses but you have to know how to use them. As successful as he was on the field he was probably more successful in the locker room. The kids loved him. St X is in good hands. Give him some time to adjust to the teams he will face allow him to gauge their schemes and team speed and he will put it together, sooner than later. Hoping he does great for X nation

Come on Dragon Fire... He is #1 player in class of 2020. Has a gold metal, shines at the elite camps, has more accolades than perhaps ANY HS player ever at his age (before anyone disagrees with that statement, see if you can find a frosh with more accomplishment than him). He is on 2nd team due to his age and his lack of loyalty to one location. Only my thoughts but I feel is true...

It really doesn’t matter when voting was done. Those voting knows how good this kid is but also knows that he is a traveler. I kind of get how this can not sit well with them but to put the highest rated player, regardless of class, that this state has ever seen on the second team is their way of telling his camp that they are the ones in control. Sounds blunt but true.

Zion Harmon on second team? Don't penalize a kid for being young and/or being mobile. I get people being frustrated with how he is using high schools but come on folks he is the Number 1 player in AMERICA for his class, yet on second team in state (the same state that he led in scoring).

He is a winner. It may take some adjustment time for both him and the players but he will keep the train moving. If he gets a few speedsters for his great offensive schemes, the train will not only be moving but it will be moving down hill. Good luck, Coach and I hope that X can go 14-1 this season!

More offers for each of these kids will be coming in next few months for sure. It will be interesting to see how BGHS upcoming junior, Vito Tisdale will be used. Most of his offers currently are for him playing corner. If he is let loose on offensive side of ball he will get some offers as a RB. I know his heart is to play corner and be returner on special teams. Should be interesting to watch unfold.

Purples come in to the season with a very sour taste in their mouth from how the season ended for them against South Warren. This could prove to be a great motivation or it could cause them to play nervous and have some struggles. Add the new coaching team to the mix and the Purples are a big question mark for many onlookers. However, don't throw the towel in on the Purples! They have a decent amount of quality players coming back with some D1 kids on both sides of the ball. Lots of coaches and schools would love to have their talent. I believe that Coach Spader will do a great job. He already has some former Purple coaches back on the sidelines. Special teams - Last season was the best statistical season the special teams unit has had. Think about this interesting fact - although Zyon Kenner was a great athlete and did a superb job as the primary returner, the only reason he was back there (although he was very good) was to give Vito Tisdale a breather. I believe that Tisdale could in fact be the primary returner on both kickoff and punt return. Look out! Defense - Our secondary should be lights out with several returners. Tisdale will make teams play opposite of him on many plays. Little Spader (coaches son) is the most underrated player the Purples has had in quite some time. He is not only a head hunter but flies to the ball about as good as any high school player you will see. Although the Defense has some holes to fill, never forget that Coach Spader is the guru of that side of the ball. 9 out of 10 years their defense is a great unit. I expect this season to be no different. Offense - Although Vito Tisdale will always (rightfully so) be the guy to talk about, he has some great help that may take a pretty big load off of his shoulders. Mainly, Michael Carter (his dad was a beast). Michael is a hard runner that is hard to take down. No one is even sure about Vito being the primary running back even this season. Folks may get tired of me tooting this kids horn but it has been a great problem for the Purples. He will be the best player on whatever side of the ball you put him on. Here is an interesting stat (Dragonfire can probably get more detailed) but after Vito's sophomore year he has the same amount of touchdowns as former Purple Mr Football Jamal Carothers. Carothers got MANY MORE touches than Vito his first 2 years. Vito has basically just filled in at RB in certain situations. Vito will have the chance to be the alltime scoring leader at BG as well as the all time interception leader as well. Another D-1 prospect is Jordan Dingle. This young man is going to be a beast. Great Tight end with lots of size and great hands. Throw in the Riggs kid that was injured last year and you got some great skill players. Beau BuCANNON, BG QB, should have another spectacular year. He is a champ of a kid. Only bad statistical game he had last year was the last game of the year. Other than that game he was pretty much lights out. Purples will have holes to fill but with the returning talent and the coaches coaching the youngsters up, it should make for another great run for the Purples. I will say that in the 35+ years of watching the Bowling Green Purples play on Friday nights that the game on Friday, August 31 at St. X will be the most awkward feeling game to watch as a fan. The coaches and the players on both teams will have lots of emotion and various feelings as well. It will be fun to watch (I think) Good luck Purples. Looking forward to August!

Purples has ran football very well, recently. Not too many years removed from Mr. Football running back Jamal Carothers and current RB Vito Tisdale. However, look at the stats of the passing yards and you will see that more than vast majority of schools a true balanced attack of air and run game. With the Purples speed in recent history a 5 yard swing pass could turn into a 60 yard TD pretty quickly. Of course any coach wants some speed and some big guys up front to block but you give that kind of team to Wallace and you will see a great offensive performance. What a lot of folks don't know is that Wallace and Coach Brohm (Purdue) are extremely close friends. Look how prolific Brohm is on offense. Wallace has taken some of Brohm's stuff but Brohm will tell you he has also taken some of Kevin's stuff. It will be fun to watch. Hoping X only loses one game this year! Grateful for the many years we were able to have Coach Wallace at BGHS. Happy for him and happy for X Nation. Offensively, he will be looking for speed. Of course, he will utilize any strength that currently exists on that side of the ball but he will want two or three athletes that can get down the field. With his knowledge of offensive schemes, it is hard to get his offenses off the field. For the past decade+ the Purples often (like 90% of the time) would score in the 40's. Give him some burners to go with some corn fed big boys and look out.

BGHS did have a national search. Max preps, 247, Hudl all has avenues for schools to list such positions.

Lots of speculation of who would take the helm but from day 1 most folks knew this was a no-brainer. Some may disagree (you have that right) but to have a guy that was the right hand man of Coach Wallace, already in the building (knows all the kids), as well as an established scheme on both sides of the ball and maybe most notably a real stand-up guy it was fairly obvious. Purples did their due diligence and had great candidates but Spader was just too hard to resist. He will put his fingerprints on offense but will get another coach or two in (more familiar Purple faces). Some may not agree with this but it is what it is. He will put a dream team of a staff together. More to come...

Interviews going on now. National Search was made. Will probably have it nailed down within 10 days. I still believe next coach is already in the building.

Vito has another major accolade to add to his arsenal. Vito has been invited to the "Nike Opening." This is a combine where the top prep gridiron stars go to test their skills against the clock. 40 yard dash, 20 yard shuttle.... The alumni of this event are pretty much all the top NFL current stars. Pretty impressive. Good luck young man

The Purples lost to South Warren when it counted. Can't erase that. However, the Purples played as bad of a game as they have in perhaps 3 years and still had a shot. Purples will be just fine. Time will tell.

Next coach already has Purples gear in the closet.

If you've read any of my previous posts concerning Harmon, you know I am a fan. Best the Bluegrass has ever seen. I know that statement raises hairs on back of some peoples heads but I do believe its true. He won't stay in bluegrass but if he did the record books would be his. Here is the problem. His coach (sorry, this will hurt but this is just my opinion) could care less about Adair County. He is a Harmon guy. That's why Zion is there. Why else would a possible 1 and done player have an inkling to even be there? When Zion leaves, coach goes with him. If Harmon transfers to a prep type school (Hargrave, Oak Hill...), coach may stay until a spot opens. Not a popular statement but is true. Most fans doesn't understand that many 5 star elite players could care less about public high school. This kid breathes roundball. 530am he is shooting. 9pm he is doing something connected to the game. High school for him this year is just a stepping stone to get where his family has been told to go. He is a solid young man that will make lots of money playing this game. He knows the team he is on is not going to compete against the stronger teams. However, he knows that he will compete (and win) against the competition. Find a frosh that has 2K varsity points. Find a frosh that has a gold medal. Find a frosh that already led a team to a ring. You won't find one. The kid is Tyler Ulis with a jumper. When he is 17 and 18 years old as a senior (probably at Oak Hill) he could be an all-time top 20 Sr that has ever played in highschool. Remember,if you don't agree with that statement to look at his accolades he will have received before college ball

All these names floating around are good names to hear but will be very unlikely. A strong fraternity has been established within the Purples football program; from the school superintendent to the booster and faithful fans down to the current coaching staff. That fraternity was built through Coach Wallace these past 20 years. People love starting rumors of who they "heard" may be given a look. I get it. Make no mistake about it; when the committee is selected to find the next coach, they will go to 1 person - Kevin Wallace. Whoever Coach Wallace says he would recommend is who will be their guy. End of discussion. Yes, they have to create a "short list" and go through the motions of interviews but it will all come down to Coach Wallace's pick. It is a 99% probability that the next coach already has a lot of Purples gear in his closet.

Today has been a crazy day. Most importantly, it is a day that has reminded me of the things in life that truly matter. My dear friend, Purple 88, lost his dad today. I hurt because I know he is hurting. However, one of the joys the Lord gives us in life are our hobbies. Bowling Green Purple football is a true hobby for Purple 88 and myself. We live a few hours apart but gather together on many Friday nights each Fall. Coach Kevin Wallace is a perfect fit for St. X - don't get me wrong, I wish he was still a Purple but he will knock it out of the Park at St. X How many public schools in Kentucky can compete and often even beat a private, like St. X? How many public high schools in America has done what Bowling Green has done the past decade? Their record and their rings will give you an answer to that question. This list is really the only things you will need to know about Coach Wallace: 1 He will be the players biggest fans. He will encourage them in the classroom as well as on the field. He will do everything in his power to get them to be playing on Saturdays at the next level. He is connected to several D-1 schools in multiple conferences. 2 He will represent the program at the highest of levels. He will develop radio and TV personalities in a super positive way. He will rub elbows with the boosters but will assist the janitors. 3 His staff that he will put together will be remarkable. They too will represent the program the way X fans would expect. His practices are crisp and will always serve the purpose of making team better. They may or may not go undefeated every year but they will always compete and play to the whistle. 4. The team will quickly find out that though he is stern and expects a lot, he will love and nurture even more. If you are a parent of a player, you hit the jackpot. You want your kid around this guy. 5. He hates to lose. He holds a grudge (only on Friday nights). He is a competitor. He has a mind that can remember every look that a defense will give him. His teams will ALWAYS out perform the other team in the second half. He will adjust better than most coaches you will ever see at halftime. I could go on. I think you get the point I am trying to make. He is a great coach. For anyone out there that wanted a "National Coach." You just got one. He just happened to be 2 hours down I-65. If St X has the facilities (they do), the parent support (they do), the boosters backing (they do), strong students that get it done in the classroom (they do), and most importantly the offensive line size and overall team speed (they do), then you just found you a great coach that will make a really good team even better. Looking forward to seeing the next few years. X fans, you done good - congrats!
