  1. Thank you for the instructions to be able to livestream here in Southwest Florida! Gladly pay the fee to watch the ‘Birds and help the student broadcast team!
  2. Does anyone have information on Gabe Williams?
  3. Believe it will be a great game with Cooper winning. 2nd best game in round 2; Cov Cath at Johnson Central gets top billing.
  4. What are the details on this?
  5. I'll be rooting for Covington Catholic to take down Johnson Central and give the 'Birds a home game on 11/21!!!
  6. I would love to see the Championship game; any chance it will be live-streamed?
  7. So right now its Bird's 2 CCH 1 with probably another Freshman game and possibly another Varsity game on tap for this year. Really makes the rivalry fun!
  8. Really exciting to watch and enjoy two really good programs go at it! Lot of time left to this season and many things can still happen; just praying that the kids stay healthy and injury free. One of the key plays of this game that seems to have missed comment in light of all the hoopla surrounding the game winner was the one completion that Tayden threw to Gabe Williams that set up a Highlands score. Watching that play come from 22 reminded me so much of watching his Dad. RIP Jared.
  9. Been watching the 'Birds since 1956 and this was one of the best in terms of excitement at the end! I can't express adequately that this team believed it still could win even though they just went down 4 with 41 seconds left! They deserved the W and I'll keep on watching! Stay focused guys! Elder is a tough nut but in the long scheme it's just another game against a quality opponent.
  10. I listened to the game on WCYN and was impressed by the enthusiasm they had for Harrison County in general. They also were effusive in their praise for the Highlands program.
  11. Stay focused and come out of this game healthy!
  12. Boyle won this game by outplaying and out coaching the Birds. If someone wants to point a finger as a reason for loss then just look at the play calling for Highland's offense.
  13. Christian Academy of Louisville Manual Highlands Owensboro Catholic Carmel (IN) 48 Points
  14. NEVER look beyond the current game; keep the focus on who is on the field and play to win! Still remember the nasty taste when we lost to Campbell County 7-6 in the mud at the old field in Alexandria. (Long time ago but the memory stays!)
  15. I know school just started and it's early for the broadcast crew too. As noted by some the camera work needs to be cleaned up just a tad. I did miss Brennan Bucher on the call as the new play by play guy needs to settle down and volume down. When the other team has the ball and reaches third down let's not get overboard with "THIRD DOWN HIGHLANDS" because it's NOT. He needs to be his own game caller and not try and mimic something he's heard before. That said I will ALWAYS opt for the student run broadcast!
  16. Point 1 is definitely an agree as he can really throw the ball as well; Litmer is a talented QB as well as evidenced by the beauty he threw to Cale Harris for the first TD. I am concerned about the amount of time they have Lorenzen in motion and used as a blocker; that expends a ton of energy for not a huge return. 2. True ... but coaching decisions on the plays immediately preceding a potential FG also factor. 3. Amen; and thank goodness. 4. Agree. 5. Always. Unsportsmanlike and unnecessary roughness need to be dealt with quickly. 6. They did show flashes and it was game 1. I am a Bird's fan through and through so get it cleaned up and March on.
  17. Anybody have an update on Cale Harris? He took a heck of a shot in the 2nd OT.
  18. Just hope all the kids get through the scrimmage with no injuries. In the past it has been a controlled scrimmage; to be the same would not be surprising especially since the Birds have another scrimmage with Ryle on Tuesday.
  19. Really hope they test out the livestream on this one!
  20. Confession time. When I was 17-20 I drove way too fast, not reckless lane changing fast just pedal down too fast. Then I got a job in college working at a funeral home that had the emergency ambulance service in the county. After literally scraping folks off the pavement and rushing them to an E R sometimes as much as 45 minutes away depending on the severity I had a major shift in my attitude. Now I am part of that old crowd and I would have no issue being retested. I drive totally defensive now and shutter at the lane changing speed demons. My observation is they are not primarily young or old but rather mid range 30-50 that are caught up in a race to be self destructive. Safe travels.
  21. Dropping to 4A wasn't a choice; it was a mandate as KHSAA said that teams could no longer opt to play in a higher classification. As far as being upset when you get manhandled and self destruct that isn't on the coaches; it's a shared responsibility.
