Murray will go as far as Boone can take them. Tilghman probably has the best team. Several teams have senior leadership so should be an exciting year the first Region.

I find it hard to put Carlisle ahead of them. I agree with Tilghman and Murray but I thinks they should be #3 in the region. They are playing a tougher schedule this year also so we will get to see what they have.

Graves usually is a very good coached team, if they execute and find some shooting they will be tough with Vogt in the middle.

Is this the KHSBCA east/west showcase? When do players find out information?

McCracken county consist of several kids that played for the Paducah Storm team that won several World Series in the travel ball circuit, including the USAAA, either AAA or Major world series and was #1 team in nation then. Several are college commits, most have the skill to go D1, not sure why they signed less, D2 or JUCO... They have won the region 3 years in a row, 2 at McCracken and 1 at Lone Oak. So they have state tournament experience. They are the most northern team to be ranked in the nation.

McCracken is loaded. They wont get on here talking but they will have plenty to say once they get there. Their are no easy outs through out the line up. Lead off hitter may be the best player in the state, 2 time Region 1 tournament MVP. All of them have good at bats.

Looks like in the 2nd game we will get to see Womack/Hannan round 2. The last game of the day, 5:30 PM Calloway County vs. Calloway County, I bet Calloway wins... This should be Calloway vs. Carlisle

It would an upset if they don't win state. Not only are they good they have depth.

This has to be the Premier high school job of western KY. McCracken has the best facilities. The biggest problem will be can they keep the city kids coming to the county school?

With the semester coming to an end and workouts starting up after the 1st of the year, who will McCracken name as their new head coach? Or when will they name one? Any names being mentioned?

No Calloway isn't a football school. The job isn't desirable but adding Lawson to a staff could be a big addition.

I heard this week that Graves has added some players and that Hannan is playing. One of the players is transfer guard that is really quick and a good shooter. The other player didn't play last year but decided to play this year and is a big, strong kid. These 2 and Hannan could be starting along side Smith and Vogt for a pretty good starting 5. With the added players, Graves will be good but can Frick get them to play together?? They have 2 weeks to prepare before they host Birdsong and his #1 ranked Lakers into the Eagles Nest. We will see how it goes...

I have heard much about Graves this year. I know they young but could you give more details on how they looked?

Graves has played 5 good teams(Franklin-Simpson, Tilghman, Murray, Mayfield, McCracken) this year and they lost 3 of those games but all 3 of those losses came before they made the QB change. With Reed at QB this gives them a better option but they still don't have a good passing game. Tilghman exposed Graves about as bad as I have seen this year because they jammed the WR's and had more speed than Graves did and Tilghmans' front was to fast for Graves. IF BG has the best front 7 they've seen and have speed on the outside Graves could be in for a long night.

From what I'm hearing everyone is already crowning Calloway as district Champs. I think a very athletic Tilghman team will have something to say about that. They have freshman better than anyone on Calloway's team. It could end up a Tilghman vs McCracken region Championship in Region 1. The 4th district with Calloway, Murray, and Marshall will be a good fight. With a top team getting left out of the region tournament. 1st and 3rd district will be down this year.

Not looking good for Graves county future against cross town rival. I know the game Friday night for Graves their varsity lost and heard they didn't look good other than Crider but do they not have any JV or freshman coming up?

Special Teams mainly the kicking of Herndon will play a big part. Jones cant run back a ball in the end zone.

Graves has decided to go with a 3 QB alternating system. Spread the other team out and hand the ball to the RB.

I heard from a Graves parent that at their scrimmage Friday night against Rossview, TN that they only threw the ball a few times but still won 27-0. Switched out QB's every other series, each had 1 completion and threw 1 int. Barnard is playing and supposed to be able to play today so could throw another kink in there at QB...

I think their QB will be junior McKee with sophomore Bonnstetter right on his heels. Graves wont pass as much as last year just hand the ball to Crider and watch him run. I just hope they don't over use him.

The Barnard kid was only QB at Marshall for 1/2 the season with his dad as a coach. I have heard he did enroll at Graves but not sure if eligible yet. But don't think he will be QB. The RB will be a handful.
