No doubt. Sounds like the administration wanted the suspensions but the school districts attorney adviced otherwise because the police did not have a definitive list of students at fault.

Hearing from sources that all suspensions for basketball and football have been retracted. Sounds like shotty police work caused a big controversy and after an appeal the suspensions were lifted.

4 football players and 1 basketball player is all I am aware of. I have no connection to wrestling so am not sure about that. I can say with 100% that basketball has 1 player that will miss 4 games and he is not in the top 8 rotation. No one has been suspended for 6 weeks, not sure where that came from. Football players were suspended for their game this Friday.

These rumors can be laid to rest with basketball. There will be 1 WV basketball player not playing in the first 4 games but he is not even in their top 8 rotation....

Walton Verona is a small public school who just got a football program within the past 10 years, don't get mad at them. Be mad at the fact this game is played if anything.

Walton Verona had 3rd string guys in during the 3rd quarter, they are a small school. What else can you do? Kids that would never score touchdowns in a close game this year were scoring, do you tell that kid keep it out of the endzone???

I agree, the number 1 seed will be huge in the 32nd this year. The 2/3 matchup in the district tournament will be a great game because Grant/SK/WV all have capability of knocking eachother off. That #1 seed will be very valuable.

No doubt these games will be close but he seems to think that SK is clear cut favorite between the 2 and I am just not seeing it. Of course no one has seen this WV team with addition of Stanley so who knows how it turns out but on paper they are solid.

I am trying to understand your reasoning for SK over Walton? Walton beat SK in first round of districts last year. SK lost Hawkins and Sargent, WV lost 2 role players and gains one of the top 3 point guards in the region in Stanley. What am I missing?

I agree that Anderson should have the top ranking but it would not shock me one bit to see WV, Oldham Cty, SK, or Collins win this thing at the end of the year. WV will not wow anyone the first month of the year, half of their top 8 guys play football but I would not want to see them at the end of the year in a one and done tournament. I think the same will be said for Anderson, Oldham Cty and Collins at the end of the year. Those top 4 are very good teams, I also think SK and Spencer are not too far off and could beat any of them on the right night. Should be a great year of ball in the 8th.

Who are Anderson's projected starters beside Garmon and Penny? WV would most likely start this line up based on how they finished last season: Miles- C Clinkenbeard- F/G Lay- G Jones- G Stanley- PG They could easily slide Pardee (F) in for Jones depending on match ups. With Grubbs/Shazier and 6'8 Brook off the bench. Very deep team.

It is hard to argue that logic. My only worry with them is the fact that Stanley never got the chance to play with them over the summer and with so many of their main guys playing football it will still be a while before they are together. I don't think we will see the best of WV until late January/February. I can see them losing early season games to Anderson and Oldham Co.

Im not set on giving Walton Verona the number 1 nod yet. Time will tell, 4 of their top 8 play football so I think they will struggle early but hopefully come tournament time they will be playing their best ball like last year. I still think Anderson gets the 1 spot until proven otherwise.

I would be interested to hear what Cov Cath gets from Under Armour. I know that Nike usually gives the coaches a pair of shoes at no cost but nothing free of charge to the players and you usually have to have your team spend a certain amount to get the shoes.

Does anyone know if Dieonte Miles from WV has had any interest shown from colleges? Last I heard it was quiet on the front, I would have to think we are getting close to the time that he is going to start opening some eyes.

Walton Verona beat Trinity 2nd team handidly and then lost the next game to Trinitys 1st team by 8.

Very good games going on all day at NKU today. Regents, BB and T and rec center all being used. Walton Verona lost to Lexington Christian at 9am. Lost by 3 on a 3 pointer made with 3 seconds left, WV had around 5 pt lead late but couldn't hang on. Still no Stanley for WV but he was on the bench. WV beat a team out of Columbus by about 10pts at noon on big floor. I believe WV plays at 5/8 pm against Estill and Wyoming. Have seen a lot of quality teams thus far.
