7th Grade: St Paul over St Therese.

8th Grade: St Mary's over Villa.

"Black Panther" is a great movie, visually beautiful, and contains several really important messages. I hope that everyone stays for the speech to the UN after the credits -- it really puts a perfect bow on the movie. I was a fan, and normally, as many movies as I see, I loathe a PACKED theater. In this case, it just added to it.

Top 30 in both offensive and defensive efficiency. 19 of last 20 champs hit that mark, only the Kemba Walker UConn team was the outlier.

Holy Trinity has the Pangallo kid and he is a LOAD to stop. He is going to be great at NewCath next year, that is unquestioned. I expect them to come out of the top half of the 8th and lose to BSS who has a little more balance, although not having a player of his ilk.

Wow, thanks everyone, this was an incredibly nice surprise to stumble onto today. So many great people on this site, so many life-long wonderful friends that I've made through BGP, and so much to be thankful for. Yesterday was great, the weekend was awesome, and I'm so appreciative to those of you who popped in here with well wishes.

Update from last night: 7th grade: Sts. Peter & Paul beat St. Henry, and St. Mary beat St. Pius. So the bottom-half of the bracket has its semi-finalists. 8th grade: St. Pius beat St. Thomas.

You do understand that I'm not making a prediction in that first post, I'm telling you that 19 of the last 20 champs fit a certain criteria, and the teams in post #1 are the only ones that fit the criteria.

Tournament gets underway this week at St Joe's Cold Spring. Should be a fun tourney. I expect St Joe's Cold Spring to win the 7th grade, and Blessed Sacrament to win the 8th.

St Joe's wins 43-35 -- a great game, the Jays pulled away in the 4th behind some very impressive three point and free throw shooting.

7th Grade Final tips off at 2:45, St Paul vs St Joe's Cold Spring. SJCS has a very nice team, I expect them to get a win over the Catholic School League (Kenton and Boone) Tourney Champs from St Paul. Ironically, these teams are also likely to meet in the Diocesan Semi's on Thursday night out in Cold Spring.

Scott had every chance to beat them in Taylor Mill.

The 8th dude on Villa probably finished 3rd with 2 votes. Ha....

Is it 4/1/18 somewhere in the world already? I LOVE the fact that arenas set it up for the visitors to have to face the home students in the 2nd half. It is called, wait for it, home court advantage.

Given how MC handled Ballard and Trinity at home, this is a heck of a road win for the Colonels. Really impressive. Get home safely, Boys.

I get that, but know that 95% of Champions in the last 20 years fall into this criteria. Odds aren't with you.

What if I told you that the 2018 National Champion was going to come out of this group: * Purdue * Michigan State * Gonzaga * West Virginia * Kansas * Ohio State * Auburn * North Carolina I'm just going to leave this here, but the last 20 years tell us that one of these 8 schools will end up cutting down the nets in April. Just something to keep an eye on as the season unfolds and the post-season kicks in.

This has to be the most likely scenario.
