  1. Have seen it. He never says Dalton is the best QB in the NFL. That would be ridiculous.
  2. So help me find where he said Dalton is the best QB in the NFL?
  3. No he didn't. He said Andy had played at a high level in the past. You're either making that up or you have a very selective memory.
  4. Okay, so rank these positions on offense: QB RB WR TE LT RT G C They can't all be "high value" -- you have to understand the point Duke was making. He, by the way, isn't some "front office employee". I can give you his phone number if you'd like to talk to him, I'm sure there is much he can learn from you about building an NFL roster.
  5. You love KenPom, they are 42nd there...just as an aside. They have played the 94th best schedule..which will go up a little after playing WKU. ONE top 50 win. ONE. (WKU) They are projected by nearly everyone to be a 9-11 seed in the NCAA -- a team that is legitimately one of the 25 best in the USA isn't in that seed conversation. No one thinks they are that good. Their best out of conference win is at Murray State.
  6. Appreciate anyone who drops a KenPom "thrillscore" ranking into a post. MTSU by about 5, if I had to guess. Would certainly be a great road win for WKU if they can pull it off.
  7. How is it that a team that was pre-season #2 in the ACC by the Coaches, finish (expectedly) 6th, and yet, exceed expectations? That is a surprising take for a UNC fan to make for a 22-8 UNC team, likely to end up 22-9, and given they were pre-season Top 10 in the country. Genuinely curious, I certainly don't follow them as closely as you as a fan, so your comment really surprised me.
  8. Steve Alford would walk across hot coals to stick it to Sean, no one in America happier than him tonight.
  9. Got ya, thanks. I was wondering if St. Joe's could make enough threes to stay in it.
  10. Another good guy I failed to mention: Jon Scheyer. Great dude. Greg Paulus was as well when we were together in NYC.
  11. Daggone, I remember our conversation about 8 years ago, just don't remember who we disagreed on that I had just been with. That is going to bug me.
  12. You're not going to mention my DK take? I think we talked after he and I sat at Starbucks for 90 minutes once and you and I disagreed about him.
  13. Twice, and while he was never anything but polite, I wasn't big enough for him to be interested in talking to. I will say, however, he is one of those rare coaches that just had that aura about them. Not sure how to define it better than that, but there is a real presence about him.
  14. I spent time with Bruce Pearl once, December of 2007 when Tennessee beat Xavier at Cintas, and he was great. I'm not a Tom Crean fan, but I will add, I think he does a GREAT job on TV. Bo was great, and is really funny in a dry sort of way.
  15. For sure, Josh Pastener is a great guy (but I'm in the camp that he isn't a very good coach). Jim Boeheim is a great dude and super funny. Everyone always rips Derek Kellogg for being crooked at UMass, and I'm sure that was the case, but he is a great dude. @gametime rips my "man-crush" on Fran Dunphy, but even GT will admit that Fran is one of the all-time great guys in coaching. No one will be shocked to know that Brad Stevens is probably the nicest human I ever met with the title "head coach". Johnny Dawkins is awesome, funny, down-to-earth, and really bright.
  16. I like Mick a lot off the court, in fact we've been known to grab breakfast at The Echo in the offseason. Jim Calhoun was a legendary bad guy, to be sure. Kevin Stallings is a dark human, and Brian Thornton (who transferred from Vandy to Xavier after being 1st Team all SEC Freshman and then a really solid sophomore year) had some crazy stories about him. Shaka Smart is a complete phony and a lousy guy. Jim Baron was a complete jerk. Dr. John Giannini is a fairly odd cat as well. Bobby Hurley is a jerk, but his brother Danny is the opposite. Rick Majerus, God rest his soul, was not a pleasant person to be around. Darrin Van Horn is the lowest of the low. Chris Collins is only "this much" above him...and I completely blame his dad who is THE WORST.
  17. Ah, thanks, so they'll miss each other by a year. Thanks.
  18. I've driven my own car through all 48 contiguous states. I've watched a college basketball game in over 50 arenas. I visited 87 colleges between 1991-1993 and bought a hat at each one.
  19. 26 years and same. So frustrating. My former brother-in-law, who is still a good friend, can't break a 100 with a foot wedge...and he has one. So. Aggravating.
