BluegrassPreps Boys Basketball Top 20 (1/2/17) Discussion
Trinity and Fern Creek are a solid #1 vs #2 debate when looking at in-state competition only. Both have a win against the other, so call that a wash. Fern Creek has wins against PRP, Doss, and CovCath. Trinity has wins against Pulaski Co., Lexington Christian, and Cooper (who beat CovCath). They are #1 and #2, or #2 and #1, however you want to slice it. Luckily, both will have many chances to state their case over the next 7 weeks.

Needed that one!

Boyle County 80 Campbell County 69
Not shocked. I've thought all year Boyle would be a handful when everyone was back on the court. Congrats.

Agreed. I like the Ravenscraft kid for St Henry, I think he will be a solid player for the Cru into the future.

KHSAA Boys Basketball Statistical Leaders (12/28)
Worth noting: CovCath, as a team, are shooting: 58% / 46% / 78% -- if they can keep from turning it over at a Ruthian pace, that will win a LOT of games.

Nick Thelen of CovCath shooting 78% from the floor -- regardless of your height, your length, your bunnies...that is crazy impressive. Put-backs and hard drives to the basket will get you places!! He is dwarfing his taller teammate, Jake Walter, who is only shooting 70% from the floor! #Sarcasm

With the exception of that head-scratching loss to Newport.

They have 3 very good FROSH, none of which play freshmen basketball.

Butler 79 Newport Central Catholic 76
Thanks, and I meant no offense to the Breds, but I've watched them twice and didn't see a bunch capable of taking a Top 10 team to the wire. I'm a huge Hall fan, he is a blast to watch.

Two of my favorite posters...and people. Enjoy the meeting.

Cooper 52 Madison Central 42
No Cozart, for me, puts an asterisk next to this one. I think Cooper is the better team, but Cozart in this game changes everything about how it would have unfolded.

Butler 79 Newport Central Catholic 76
So....many believe Butler is a Top 10 team, and while NewCath has a FANTASTIC point guard, they have been just okay this year. So what gives: Butler less than their A game, or is a fully stocked NewCath starting to find their form?
