I have to agree. Had dixie continued running the ball they would have controlled the clock, keeping the Bulldog offense off the field. I give credit to the athleticsm of the Bulldogs and the questionable strategy on Dixie's part. I see a lot of Ft. Thomas people on here singing the praises of one coach and not necessarily the young men that were on the field. I find it odd that the Bulldog contingent isn't on here praising a coach. Makes me wonder??? I am not sold on Coach Lickert yet. 2 wins doesn't merit a MEDAL of HONOR.

Correct was thinking that before tonight's game. Either way Holmes Needs to win or Dixie lose.

If Holmes beats CCH and Scott beats Dixie. Scott and Holmes both 2-2, and Dixie and CCH 1-3. CCH loses out because of head to head. If CCH and Dixie win. Holmes odd man out.

Absolutely, Mike is a class act and what he hs done at Taft in itself is a miracle. Hats off to all of those that were able to contribute.

Not out of playoffs yet. If they beat CovCath it forces a 3 way tie breaker between CCH, Holmes and Scott. If they beat CCH and Dixie they are in.

Not always about height. This game will be decided inside the box. Can Scott's Line hold water? Can Deck be given the time to hit his receivers? Will the Scott coaching staff adjust their offensive set to get the ball in the hands of their playmakers (Spencer, Bianchi and Forrester)? Will Scott's defense be able to put pressure on Miller and keep him and Palmer contained? If the answer to more than one of the above is no, then it will be a long night for the Eagles of Taylor Mill. As I stated before in this thread I have strong ties to both teams. This is my impartial opinion. I will be glad for whichever team that wins, and will be sad for the loser. They both need this win. Both have one district loss and given the rest of their district it is unlikely that either will post another district win other than the one that is earned this Friday. I will be at the game, rooting for both sides. Best of luck to both teams.

I agree. I liked it the old way, it sets up some really great matchups. It also gives a team that may be the 4th best in their district to play 2 games. It also makes for very interesting 2nd and 3rd round matchups. Example CCH-HHS regional final a few years ago.

Same here. It is virtually impossible for you to control the clock or protect your QB when your offensive linemen are on their heels the entire game. They need to consider that they are running the wrong type of offense. There is not a good mix of run/pass. They need to line up and give their linemen a chance to FIRE OFF THE BALL, start tagging defenses. I went to many Scott games last year. Varsity, JV, Freshman. From the top to the bottom they had the same results. When you have athletes like Spencer, Bianchi, Hankinson and Forrester. Why are you not running a 2 and 3 back set to get them the ball? If you start pounding the ball with success, it opens play action passes and gives the opportunity for a guy like Deck to stand in the pocket and sling it. By the way, you cannot expect 5 O-linemen to block 6 guys. Do the math. Unfortunately, over the past 3 years there has been a lot of talent on that Eagle team that did not get the recognition that they deserved because of coaching. Unfortunately, this can be said about this years senior class. It is a shame.

That is why I mentioned Michigan and having to have 6 wins to make the playoffs. If you make the playoffs in a format like that you deserve it. In addition to that, I don't think you see the first round BLOWOUTS, that we have. Let's face it. If a team in a 4 school district goes 0-10, they do not deserve to be in any playoffs. Period. Whether it be basketball, football, baseball or ring toss. They do not deserve even a snowball's chance of pulling off a stunning upset as one that was mentioned earlier in this thread. If you couldn't perform and weren't motivated enough to win in the regular season, why be given that chance?

I personally thought the best AA team I have seen play is Appalachian State. However seeing as they are a North carolina team, my pick would be NewCath.

I am not referring to any one school. What I said was I THINK. I did not say that is what they said. As for schools that ARE playing up, I do not have the exact schools. However here is a list of schools that petitioned to PLAY UP: Covington Catholic, East Jessamine, Green County, Highlands, Knott County Central, Madisonville North Hopkins, McLean County, Russellville, Somerset, Washington County, West Jessamine Requested Regional Move: Casey County, Fleming County, Frankfort, Ohio County, Southern, Todd County Central

All I know is this, when the original alignment came out I studied it and thought "WOW, this really opens the door for a few programs that have struggled to get to L-VILLE in December. When it was said and done, and realignment was final, I studied it again. I saw a few things that didn't jive. IMO it will be the same group of teams at the finals. Don't get me wrong a Powerhouse is still a Powerhouse no matter what class. However, all I meant was that if you say I am 3A, then no matter how much I travel or what former rivalries I may have had, I should still be in a 3A district. By making it 6 classes and reducing the size of the districts, then it should have made it easier for those teams to continue rivalries, because they have more open dates to schedule them. As far as travel goes, schedule your non district games closer to home. With a 5 team district you would have played 2 district games at home anyway. Schools travel from Northern Ky. nearly every week to play in Corbin, London, Ironton, Ashland etc. Louisville Schools come to Cincinnati EVERY year to play in the Ohio vs. USA weekend. Why is travel an issue for a district game?

I AGREE. One thing I would like to see is this: If a school has 3A enrollment, they should be 3A. Allowing schools to petition and dictate their districts is ridiculous. They can whine all they want about rivalries and travel. When you allow certain schools to jump up a class (2 in some cases), then the school with the lowest enrollment for that class in that district should be allowed to drop down a class if they so choose. Why have a class system if you don't make schools play that way. I think some schools may have looked at their alignment and thought they would have a better shot at a championship if they jumped up a class or two.

While I agree that Hankinson is a good athlete, I think Holmes has some really great speed in the defensive backfield. I think this game is won more in the trenches. If Holmes pressures Deck, I don't believe he has the poise to put the ball on the mark. Unless Scott is able to establish a running game early, they will not be able to get the ball to their receivers. They cannot keep coming out week after week with that 4 receiver set and expect it to work. They need to find a way to get the ball in Spencer's hands. He is a play maker and unfortunately Scott has been unable to get him into their offensive gameplan.
