Track Right turn I-Beam support wall nearly completed. Land in front of wall will be used to raise the field approx. 4 feet. Once all I-Beams are placed the top of the beams will be cut to the contour of the land.

Update as of Aug 21st. Work continues on the Right Turn of the track. Also the back straight away and start of the Left turn wall is completed. This wall will allow the field to be raised 4 feet higher than the previous field. 30 foot I Beam to support right turn of 8 lane track Reinforced concrete wall with reinforced concrete pillars underground The property at this end is lower and the wall was needed to raise the field 4 feet. New load of I-Beams being delivered. Also the dirt is being repurposed to raise the field.

Update on Field progress. Began working on the track first turn on the right side of the field. To hold the hill side and new street location they are placing 30 foot I-Beams onto the ground.

Prints of the new buildings placed over the current field/track. Road is at the bottom. Although the print shows three buildings the rendering shows that they will be connected with two entry point to the field.

The retaining wall for the new Soccer facility is in the background. The new buildings will run from the new wall by the road to where the goal is located closest to the camera. If you look at the rendering of the facility first posted you can see how close the building is to the road.

I watched most of the BG vs South game that was streamed, and as a HHS fan I saw HHS most of their games when competitive. I am not interested in seeing the Scott HS game. I think all are games against each of these teams would be very competitive. On any give night any one of those time could beat the other. It will be fun seeing how it turns out.

Be careful of false youtube channel's. Check the channel name - kool tv, hair club, lasmi lasmi, etc. They are not showing the games.

The number one consideration is what you have to pay in the market for the coach you want. The other considerations to justify the expense is 1) the number of students under your supervision and instruction and 2) the revenue that is generated from the sport. Looking at the list of salaries for both the HC and assistants, I would say the Basketball has the highest per student cost at Highlands. And football generates the highest revenue. Other schools may be different.

They have already stopped playing GCL schools and moving to 4A will replace some 5A schools due to playing district games. They can keep Cov Cath and some other local revivals. So yes their schedule will be scaled back if playing in 4A district games.

I believe the best course for HHS is to play against schools their own size and play CCH each year just like Beechwood does. Playing in 4A will still give HHS a big challenge and NKY will get to see a CCH vs HHS game.

Post was presented to confirm that changes are needed in the future. I have never been a fan of playing out of your class. Not even for the reason of travel expenses or rivalries. The players should come first by providing them the best chance to succeed against schools of like size.

Clearly they could try and find another Dale, however they are under weight in their class. From KHSAA Web Site. 5A schools range 724 to 505 boys 4A schools range 552 to 430 boys HHS average boys number is 486 and that is skewed due to two years (14-15) and (15-16). Since this is a HHS vs Conner thread - Conner has an average boy number of 707. That is 221 more boys than HHS.

I completely understand there are a lot of conditions that need to be evaluated in making decisions on how to manage who gets time on the field. The success that HHS had in the past has drawn more guys to the team. Also Dale and Brian both worked together to get the buy-in for platooning. Getting more guys involved, having them focus on one task, keeping players fresh and limiting injuries while having a winning season are very good goals. However, today looking at "this good circumstance" has its limitation. I believe when the talent of the players drop off, the larger numbers work against a teams success. There is still football to play and I hope the coaches are seeking advise like you mentioned. From my perspective I am sure the coaches are working to find ways to get the best players more time on the field. Thanks for your input.

Just a question? In your opinion how does a coach manage a game having 74 total players with 31 Seniors? 1) Play as many guys as you can by Platooning - Try and keep a good team chemistry 2) Play your best athletes, with some on both sides of the ball realizing a larger number of four year players will never see the field. Then deal with the issues that presents. There are special teams but that is normally where some of the younger guys get on the field. Looking at the roster the Junior's total 21 and the Soph total 22. So next year's player management may be a bit easier. Just interested in how a coach approaches the Senior class?
