As a Highlands fan I always root for a KY team over an out-of-state team. I also root for a NKY team over a "down state" team... I have many friends who are CCH grads & have let the hate go. It has morphed into a deep dislike for Ohio St.! I hope they never win another game!

No. IMO HHS & CCH are better...wish they played. I am sure both teams would rather play Cooper than Pendleton Co.

I agree with a great deal of LN's reply, but I also think/know that many fans do not realize the impact KHSAA regs have on teams all over the state as far as game prep at the start of the season. Not just HHS but all teams must adhere to recent rule changes. An example is that a team cannot practice in full pads til Aug. 1st. Also, a rule that says a team must give minimum of a 3 hr. non football related break b/w practices in full pads which makes in hard to do the traditional double or triple session of past summers. Furthermore, with it being a hot summer the heat kept teams off the field as well. There are a few more nuances to these rules that makes it tougher to get on the field to get the reps that a player needs to be at game form in week 0. This reply is in no way attempting to explain the Boyle / HHS result but just to add another factor to why a team may not look it's best early on anymore. Also, there are a good number of teams that only have 1 scrimmage vs. Another school before games begin. This kinda makes me think a team's first couple reg. season games are played more at a scrimmage level nowadays.

Went to this one tonite...DCM is a great place to watch a game. The field is tucked in behind the HS & MS and not a bad seat in the house. Also, even if you stand it's a fantastic view. HHS wins & this was the tale of 2 halves for sure. The Birds D changed what they were doing up front & whom they were doing it with. IMO that is a big reason BC was no longer running it up the middle. Turnovers also cost the Rebels, but a couple of them were forced. An earlier post mentioned that these 2 teams will meet in November & I agree. BC has a very good team & made some fixable mistakes. Nice showing on the road & at Highlands no less. Impressive! Hayes & Harris are a deadly combo of speed (Hayes) and a bruising back (Harris)... Birds put up 52. That is strong, especially since the O was not really clicking in the 1st half. As always, return teams are a strength for Highlands.

I have to admit that I picked Danville in this one. I was wrong & it is a nice win for SK! A buddy of mine went & said SK was the better team and the score should've been worse. Piggy backing what dadof3 said...SK dropped 2 TD passes. Ouch in the film room tomorrow!

Historically, Danville is one of the best programs in the state! The areas loaded with football talent year in & year out...not to mention Boyle Co. Danville wins.

Highlands 27 Boyle Co. 14 I think HHS is tough, especially at home. I know Boyle will have 20 or so really good/tough players that will do what they're supposed to do. Ultimately, HHS has a lot back from last year & wins in a good one. Hoping no injuries for both and a safe ride up for BC fans!
