Ryle 3 Holy Cross 2
Lotsa teams in the next group. Doesn't mean they can't/won't knock someone off when it matters most. Stay under the radar until it means something.

Gallatin County, Carrol County Round 3
In the words on Rodney King, "can't we all just get along." To which I always respond, "a long what?"

All "A" Tourney now Single Elimination!!!
Reidland is pretty strong. Only gave up one run the entire tourney. Their toughest game was Livingston Central. I think Edmondson's pitcher might just have been gassed by the title game. She had a real battle against Holy Cross two games before.

All "A" State- Lady Cru
From Marc Hardin: "Saturday was an odyssey for the St. Henry softball team, and an historic one. Following more than two hours of weather delays and a key rules change in the wake of threatening weather forecasts in Owensboro, the Crusaders made their farthest advancement at the Touchstone Energy All “A” Classic state tournament by appearing in the semifinals for the first time. St. Henry, in the tournament for the second year in a row under first-year coach Freedom Fogt, was eliminated 13-0 by Edmonson County in what was the Crusaders’ fourth consecutive game in a 14-hour span at Jack C. Fisher Park. Edmonson County collected 16 hits and received a two-hit shutout from junior ace Paige Carnes. St. Henry managed a second-inning single by JoAnna Rebitski and a single in the fourth by Jordan Kramer. “Their pitcher was pretty good because we hit the ball really well until that last game,” said Fogt, whose squad totaled 41 hits while scoring 25 runs the first three games. “After all the girls went through, we literally ran out of gas that last game.” The Crusaders, eliminated during pool play last season, defeated Danville 6-3 in Saturday’s opener in what coach Fogt thought was their first win in pool play. Shortly thereafter, Fogt was informed by tournament officials that it did not count. “Danville was a big win because they have a couple of Division I college girls, and we thought we had the upper hand in pool play,” Fogt said. “But we were told the tournament was now single-elimination, and that first game was just practice.” The tournament, originally a two-day bonanza with pool play on Saturday and the quarterfinals, semifinals and final scheduled for today, became a one-day, single-elimination event following the first round of games, which began at 9:30 a.m. (EDT) and were delayed by inclement weather. “They didn’t think we’d get it in on Sunday,” said Fogt. Kramer and pitcher Noelle Butts were named all-tournament for the Crusaders (15-9), who won the Ninth Region title to earn the state berth. Kramer went 8-for-11 at the plate on the day. Her bases-loaded single during a four-run sixth inning in a 9-7 second-game win over previously unbeaten Gallatin County broke a 7-all tie. Gallatin County, which entered the small-school state tournament with an 11-0 record, beat Glasgow, 7-2, in its Saturday tournament opener. Butts won three games for St. Henry. She three-hit Danville while striking out eight, went 3-for-4 with three RBI against Gallatin County, and went 4-for-4 with a double and two RBI while keying a 10-6 win over Glasgow in game three. Kramer went 3-for-3 with two RBI against Glasgow. Other standouts at the plate for St. Henry included Teresa Urban, whose two-run single gave the Crusaders a 4-2 lead against Danville. Urban went 2-for-3 against Gallatin and made it 7-2 with an RBI single during a four-run seventh against Glasgow. Gabby Stewart went 3-for-4 with an RBI against Gallatin. Molly Dietz had two hits apiece against Gallatin and Glasgow. Annie Rice collected a pair of hits against both Danville and Glasgow. “It was a long day but we beat Danville and handed Gallatin County their first loss and made the semifinals for the first time ever,” Fogt said. “We did well in the field (three errors in four games) and we didn’t make an error the last two games.”

Lost to Livingston Central and Green County, 2-0 and 13-2, I think. Two pretty good teams. Green County can hit.

Ryle 3 Holy Cross 2
It's more about the D than hitters. Field the bunt. Fielding it well makes it so that the other team has to hit you to beat you. Not fielding it well results in disaster come pressure situations.

St. Henry's Noelle Butts - Please vote for Noelle
Won game one 6 to 3. Raining and doesnt look good

Boone County 4 Conner 1
I am surprised Conner is not scoring more this year. Not that Dallis isn't a great pitcher cause she is and knows how to pitch. Shes more a pitcher than thrower. But they haven't put up much against anyone. I really thought their offense was going to be good and it just hasn't. I think they have a good lineup, whats the deal?

36th District & 9th Region Tourney at NKU???
NKU is a nice facility and if cost is an issue, get the word out. Maybe you can get a sponsor. I would think so. Cost was an issue last year, but I don't know what the cost was/is.

36th District & 9th Region Tourney at NKU???
I think it should be there as well. It could be the 9th Regional Championship Presented by FedEx, eh Lawnboy?

Boone County 2 Simon Kenton 1
Gotta say 22 has guts. Nice job Dallis. Hope I got the number right!

Highlands 4 Newport Central Catholic 3
Nice to see Highlands play a clean game. Their D has not supported their pitcher well the last couple of games. Their lineup can hit. If they play solid D they can be a tough squad.
