Jared Doughtery will be the best kicker in KY. You have to see him to appreciate what he brings to the table as a kicker. A kickoff will not be returned this year against HHS.

HHS will be fine. They will work out the kinks in the scrimmages and be rolling by the regular season. Seniors have a way of graduating every year. New players step in and fill the spots. At this time last year, the starters were pretty much set. This year's team has more players fighting for positions this July than last year's team. There aren't as many household names as last year. This all just makes the story more interesting. If they do fall off, it won't be because BW doesn't know how to coach or understand the Highlands way. This isn't his first rodeo. He's had his hand in more than a few HHS victories over the years.

I wish I had a TE that was 6'4", 200+lbs, athletic, and had a lot of previous experience running the ball. It would be great if this kid was just standing on the sideline not being used on offense until 2015. Sounds like Austin Hergott.

D-line during spring ball was Robinson, Gall, and Abner. Linebackers were Pangallo and Scheopf. O-line during spring ball was Raleigh, Haas, Richardson, Hebel, and Dalton. Hard to tell how the starters will shake out because a lot of players playing baseball.

Today should be the last day for spring practice.

Meet today at North Laurel High School in London, Kentucky. Meet was a two event meet with bench press and power clean. Montgomery County won the event. Evan Richardson (Highlands) lifted the greatest amount of weight for the two events (645) and won the overall bench press event with 370 lbs.

It went well.

Wilmington College (OH) is having a bench press competition April 26. Open to college and high school students.

I had an incorrect sighting. I thought another player was Doughtery at practice yesterday.

A few players switched positions: Urlage RB, Doughtery LB, Hebel guard

I won't be shocked if a few players get moved from defense to offense. Hebel and Gall may be necessary moves to the o-line.

Not sure about the answer to your question, but it would be logical to assume current seniors would be eligible. I believe weight lifting is a club sport in KY, not tied to football.

Spring football at HHS could start as early as Monday. These questions could be answered very soon.

Wondering about the short-term future of platooning at Highlands. Any predictions concerning if HHS will continue to maintain strict platooning in the 2014 season? Will Highlands continue previous platooning strategy or adopt modified platooning with a few select athletes going both ways here and there?

Physically, he will be a great addition to any team. He played hard against HHS last year. I was hoping to see him play against the Birds this year. Good luck to him.

I expect the two will be much closer concerning overall talent level than we have seen in a while. Should make for some very good games.
