I like Robins and Robinson. I haven't seen Green play, so I can't really include her in my comments. But in my opinion, it should be a two girl race. The others are very nice players, but I see more gaps in their game than I do the other two.

Let's not make this call the subject of this great game. There were calls on both sides that could have changed the game. This was one run and we would have gotten two on the last hit if we needed it. It was a great game and both teams played very well and with a lot of heart. It was great to be a part of win or lose. It's a learning experience regardless of the outcome and I expect any rematch will be outstanding. But there are other teams in our district that are looking to have a say in that rematch!

In my opinion, NKY is down a little. A lot of youth! But give it a couple years and I think you'll see it creep back up.

I didn't say I agreed with any of it. I said it happens all over the place and it's if it's within the rules, then there is no need to whine. There are 100's of examples across the state. And guess what, not all transfers are to put AAU teams together. So you can't really make that generic statement. It may be you perception that's why it happens, but really not the case all the time or even the majority of the time. There are different reasons why kids and families chose to move schools. People like to twist some of those reasons to make it fit their agenda. Again, These are my opinions if it's all done legally.

Might be a lil costly and I'm not sure the school board would go for it. And would the kids want to commute from MC that far??? But if you think it would work, have at it! But I'm not sure why you'd move to Wilder? But I guess that's your choice. Good luck!

I have said many times that I loved watching this group play. I was coaching teams against them back when they were 7th and 8th graders and knew they would be special. But sometimes things happen and fate has a different path. Sometimes kids get burned out. Sometime expectations and pressures become too much. Sometimes kids play for their parents. Sometimes, others just develop more than them. And sometimes when you add talent from multiple classes (at other schools), it can trump a talented class. These kids will be successful because of their success and failures on and off the court. At the end of the day, none of them are going to get paid to play bball. The life experience that comes with winning and losing is what is the most valuable to athletes.

The whiners comment goes back further than this thread. It's time to let it go. And yes, most of the whining seemed to come from the MC fans. Just like you...I tell it like it is. That's where the whiners comment came from. As for the areas you mention about transfers...wouldn't it make sense that more transfers happen in those populated areas? There are more kids and more schools in much closer proximity. If you live in an area where the next school is 20-40 miles away (or further), it makes it much harder to transfer! It doesn't mean those kids don't want to and wouldn't do if they had the opportunity. I know that you take pride in the MC teams being "homegrown", but there is probably a reason that MC doesn't get any transfers. And criticizing others that do get legal transfers is going to sound like whining. Let me ask you this. Are you telling me that if Erin Boley would have shown up on your doorstep legally, you would have said no thank you? It happens all over the place. There are reasons it happens some places more than others. Some of those reasons are legit and some are very fishy.

It's the "stating facts" over and over again that labels whiners. And I wasn't specifically talking about you. But okay. And what "facts" did you state in your OP?? And "check my facts"??? Did I say every team in the 10th does it??? No, said it happens all over the state. And you never explained your NKY comment either.

Yes we did! The first one I can remember in bball for a long long time. And she's playing softball for me! And doing great btw! But not following you with your in NKY "you can go to whatever school you want" statement. Please explain that one. All I'm saying is the whining gets old. It happens all over the state. If kids choose to go there then so be it. Now if there is fishy stuff, different story.

We (Highlands) were involved in a bench-clearing brawl my senior year up on the hill. It was crazy! Funny thing was, several of us played on the same summer team!!! So you had to pick and choose who to go after! LOL!

Congrats! The first are always very exciting! Usually the girl is running really hard to first because they know they are at least going for a double when they hit it that hard and don't know what a HR feels like yet! Love seeing their face when they realize it went over the fence! All are nice players!

Agreed. Coached AAU for 8 years. We constantly worked on our skills...which included all those things and many more! AAU can be different styles of play in games, but if you're playing for teams that aren't teaching skills at and early age...find another team!
