  1. Excellent point.. I never thought of that
  2. Well, then I have no idea why they would leave the #1 team in the nation off the list. Could just be an error of some kind, a big error at that..
  3. I believe Trinity had a buy week last week, that is why they aren't on the list.
  4. Maxpreps has the game being played at Elder, Trinity's school site says its at Trinity.. Is it for sure in Louisville?
  5. Trinity will not loose this one, or any other game for that matter. Trinity enters "The Pit" and comes out with a win 35-7
  6. I don't see Cooper being able to score with Conner. I don't think their offnese has the "fire power". If Cooper scores 28, Conner will score 29. Some will say Conner's defense is suspect, but I disagree. They have some things to work on, just like every other team at this point in the season. Their DB's are fast. Safety #25 is a sure tackler, and #3 is not afraid to stick his nose in there and lay the big hit. Turnovers and penalties will be key to this game. The Cougar offense is powerful enough and explosive enough to score as many as they need to. Contrary to what others have said the Conner offense has more weapons than just Barker and Fogle. If Cooper focuses too much on these two, there are several others in skill positions that can make plays, and make them fast. From watching the game last week, it looks to me that their offensive line can be pretty dominant, and this was with one starting lineman out. #52 and #74 were destroying people all night long. To this point the only thing that has stopped the Conner offense is themselves. Cooper has some fine players on their roster as well. I think this game will be an offensive showcase, similar to Conner's playoff win over Franklin Co. last year, probably not quite as high scoring, but none the less, a high scoring game.
  7. I would imagine because they see the guys on TV playing without them strapped, and they want to look "cool".. I also don't understand why guys in the NFL don't wear pads in their pants. But that is off topic, for this thread.
  8. Two of my players have them, they have not complained (that i have heard). I actually tried one on, and liked the way it fit, felt very comfortable. Granted, I didnt have any type of contact with it on, so maybe that is when the discomfort comes into play.
  9. There is a helmet that is fairly new, and I am very impressed with. The Xenith. There is a feature with the chin strap that is very similar to a draw string on a pair of sweat pants. Before snapping the chinstrap, the player can pull the bottom two straps apart, and this tightens the helmet down onto their head. These helmets also have very high ratings with concussion prevention. They are very reasonably priced, $235, as compared to some of the others ive seen at over $300. https://www.xenith.com/page/menu_02/13712.html
  10. Honestly, I think it's how the helmets themselves are made. I was playing when the first "new" helmet, the Revolution came out. I wore an "old school" Ridell in high school, and my first year of college ball, I was so excited to wear the fancy new Revolution. I quickly found out, while they may be lighter, and look cooler, they did not stay on like you would think a football helmet should. I had my helmet come off once, my entire playing career, up to my freshman camp in college. During that first week, my helmet came off at least 5 times. I tried tightening the straps, putting more air in it, and it didn't really help much. I ended up switching back to an "older" style helmet.
  11. Campbell Co. has scored 34 and 42 points in their two wins this season. So we know they can score points. On the other hand they have given up 37 points and were shut out by Covington Catholic. This game could get interesting, depending on which team shows up for the Camels.
  12. I don't think it's a bad rule. I don't think it would effect the outcome of a game either. I think this rule has been put into place so the players and coaches make sure the helmets are properly fitted. Just another effort to improve player safety. The newer helmets, if not fitted properly, easily come off as we have seen the past few years. Sent from my Samsung Galaxy Epic using Forum Runner
  13. I don't see Boone snapping the loosing streak this week. Covington Catholic takes this one
  14. I don't think Cooper's D is faster than Conner O. Maybe in the line, but not a chance at the skill positions.
  15. The parking out there is already awful, cant imaging how bad it will be whith a construction crew added to the mix.. I'm glad I don't have to go out there this year
  16. I doubt the only play they have is the qb keep
  17. Simple statement. Pointless thread. Thanks for you input though
  18. What does the conner freshman game have to do with this thread? NOTHING. You are fishing my friend..
  19. If Elder beats Highlands, that will have no impact on them winning another state title.. No other 4A team in KY can play with them..
  20. Either HCMan or UkFan.. if in fact they are not the same person.. Whoever said it isn't a very well informed poster.
  21. Could this be one of the most pointless threads ever created on BGP?
  22. Who was Nelson Co. playing in this one??
  23. Highlands can't play everyone
  24. What is hard to understand about the words "easy" and "yes"? Highlands will have yet another undefeated season, I will say their toughest challenge will be Covington Catholic, however I still take Highlands in this one by 14.
