Right on. I highly doubt any Kid who trains with Jordan who plays for Johnson is going to say beat it to Johnson. They just want to get better and every opportunity they're given to do is a added Bonus. All the other Crap that goes with it is Hogwash. Exactly. There is some more back story to this I'm thinking. My guess Coach Johnson poorly used Highlands as his topic that night but let's be honest, it's being driven from something else. My peeps are telling me he is in a Social media war with Jordan Nevels. Who by the way is the exclusive trainer for the Highlands Basketball team. Was it really a shot at Jordan rather than Highlands? Jordan was the 1st person to call whoever he thought would listen when Johnson was hired on as the WR's coach in 2022 saying it was a bad move. Why? Tell us how you really feel. My guess Jordan is feeling an little uneasy about maybe Johnson might take some kids from Highlands and that Nevels feels the players should be only training with him. And vice versa. Again why? If I had several options for trainers, then I would make sure I was sending my Child to what was the best fit. I have noticed that all these trainers want to get in on the action once a Athlete is doing well. Like Willie the big WR from CCH. When Willie started garnering all the attention, all the Gyms around town started proclaiming that they were the ones that made it happen. Again, Johnson probably regrets saying what he said and I even tried to find the post myself. Apparently he has deleted his Acct. But this is being driven by another source. I am hearing Johnson is still on staff and will be coaching again this year at Highlands. This situation was addressed and taken care of the very next morning and both programs are moving forward. Maybe a not as tight as they once thought but moving forward. No one's perfect but through all of this no one has mentioned that there might something else here. Maybe just maybe. Just my two cents.

Highlands wasn't going to let Cramer beat them last night. Just wasn't happening. But Cramer managed to make the All Tourney team with only Netting 3 points. Can't believe the Mann kid didn't get the Nod.

I don't know. Maybe the constant dislike of the current Football Coach at Highlands and the seemingly over the top bashing of his Son might be a huge indicator. Call me crazy. It use to be Girls Soccer with their Coach years ago, then the Boys Basketball program when Listerman took over and now the Football team. I'm sure Peegate was on your Radar when the Baseball Program hiccupped. What's next, the Cheer Coach? I hear their formations aren't State Championship form. You have a really sense of pride for the Highlands Athletic programs but whatever it is they never satisfy your liking. Again, call me Loco I guess! Does that answer you simple question? Life is too short. Why not just try to enjoy it once in a while.

Spot on. Highlands isn't the only school that battle daily hurdles that keep them from hiring all Employees/teachers within the district.

I have heard the same but they have already gained two quality Coaches in Shawn Zitt who played at Lloyd and is now the Strength and Conditioning Coach for the FTIS district and is now the new Running Backs Coach. That's a Win IMO. I also heard that former Simon Kenton QB standout and EKU grad Matt Shearer will be joining the Staff as well. Welcome back home to Highlands Matt. Also another quality hire. Matt might be young but let's not forget he has been coached by some quality College Coaches in the past couple of years. Coaches that have left, one had a kid graduate and the other had a Career Change and just couldn't make it happen. Nothing more nothing less.

When and where are all of these games being played?

Only benefits Beechwood rather than Highlands. When it's all said and done that's what schedules are going to start to look like. It won't be about Dodging anyone. It will be so Schools are fighting for the Higher RPI. Sure Beechwood wants to play CCH and Highlands. They get the Higher RPI's to reap the benefit from. CCH beats Beechwood and they get Newport and Ludlow's RPI.

Highlands gains no real RPI leverage by playing any Teams down in Class. Playing Lex Cath is something that Highlands realizes could eventually hurt their RPI. Even CCH now that they are 4A. Highlands would be better served calling anyone 5A or 6A starting next year to ensure they have peak numbers when RPI seedings come out late in the year for Playoffs. Playing a team like Beechwood or a team from across the River is useless.

So Covington Catholic is dropping down to give themselves a better chance at a State Title? They didn't have much issues with winning them a few years ago in 5A. What has changed? Or did you mean something else?

Where is Covington Catholic? Oh they’re dropping down. I did hear Highlands vs Covington Catholic is still being played. Week 2 is what I’m told.

The Birds can score. Nathan Vinson is incredibly quick to the Rim. No one could stay in front of him tonight. The Birds play so well together. They’re a much better Team this year than they were in 2021. Just my opinion.
