Congrats to Bailey Rankin for being selected to the Senior West squad for East- West all-star Game, also Sydney Cloyd and Lindsey Ketcham to the junior west squad. Alex Baker,Lauren Shepherd,Bailey Rankin, Sydney Cloyd, and Lindsey Ketcham 1st team academic all state honors.

Collins 16 Shelby County 9. Bailey Rankin 2 HR's on consecutive at bats for the second time in her career, Shelbi Poehlein, Lauren Shepard, and Danaria Lewis also went yard. Collins will face Anderson County tonight for the district crown.

I just found out Vernon Bibb passed today. He helped alot of girls in the game of softball. He will truly be missed.

Even if coaches nominate players, if they don't go to the meeting to promote and vote for their players they probably will not get selected.

I have also heard of girls that made it, but the official list has not been released yet. They are waiting on girls to confirm if they can play or not. It will be posted at Ky. Prep Softball. The games will be played at Ballard this year due to renovations at UofL. They will be June 14 - 16.

Well looks like we pushed it a little to far. Probably should purchased before this season.

2012 Xeno. I had always heard composites only had so many hits in them, I didn't believe it, now I do. The bat was used from February 2012 til last week, alot of games and hitting practice. I bought the same bat again it has some pop.

My kid was going thru a slump I thought, she went from hitting .370 to .229, deep balls in the outfield became little bloopers, hits in the infield became little dinky dribblers. We found out that her bat was cracked. We changed bats and in the last 19 at bats she has 2 HR's, 2 triples, 3 doubles, and 4 singles, her avg. is back up to .340, so if it looks like your kid is making contact and the ball is not going anywhere check your bat.

It looks like Male made a good hire. A lot of people don't like Bloomers antics, but he knows how to get the best out of his players.

Collins won over Owen County 5 to 0, then lost to Sacred Heart 13 to 2, finished at 11:30 PM. I think they ran out of gas.

Did Spencer pitch the 5th grader again. Collins hit 2 out Monday against her and another girl had 2 hit the top of the fence that came back in.

I know for a fact they have shopped around looking for a new school for 3 years.

I will tell you they are in the top 3 in region 8. They will contend for the region title this year.

I totally agree, I call them coaching moments, then nothing but positive reinforcment.

Collins takes the county rivalry game.Shepard gets the win defense is starting to put it together. They will face a tough task Wednesday at Bullitt East.

No one was hit, very clean game, it may be the first game this season that Collins played without committing an error, I don't remember Carroll having any errors either.

Collins has played a difficult schedule for a young team. They have played well at times and struggled at times. There is still time to correct some things before district play. They still have Ballard, Ryle, Anderson County again as teams that are ranked or will be. There was a thread about scheduling, I have always wanted to play good teams to get ready for tournament play, but with this team I might be changing my mind.

Gallatin County was definitely the better team last night. I think they had 14 hits. Collins is struggling in all phases of the game. When you commit 6 errors a game it can be hard to over come that many mistakes.

Wow one of the best facilities I have ever visited. The last six years We have traveled to parks in 15 states from Maryland to Colorado, they have built a first class facility here in Kentucky. It would be a great place for a future KHSAA state tournament. If there are better I would like to see them. A great place for softball and baseball.

The best teams Collins has played in the current poll are Oldham County, Male, Central Hardin, Meade and Eastern. Took Meade to extra innings and led Eastern 5 to 1 til errors raised it's ugly head.
