Such a huge loss for KY softball!! Vern will be greatly missed! He was an amazing man. Prayers go out to his family.

My kids spent a couple years with Vernon for lessons. Humble, kind and full of enthusiasm. He will certainly be missed.

So sorry to hear this news. My daughter began pitching with Vernon and she loved him as did the rest of us. Prayers for his family.

Sorry to hear that! He did a great job instructing. I recommended several young softball Pitchers to Vernon. My condolences to his family.

Sorry to hear this, If some one has time I would love to see a post about who he was involved with as far as HS and maybe travel ball goes. Sounds like he gave lessons.

Vernon was a teacher not just to the girls but to all of the Bucket Dads who learned from him and how to handle the girls. I know on Bourbon Co he was working with Ariel Dailey, Hannah Waganer, Ally Sanderfur, and the catcher Kandice Green. He started with Ariel when she was 7 years old. She now pitches for Bourbon as a eight grader. She loved him like a grandfather and a great friend. I know he had a pitcher on Lafayette, Norte Dame, Ryle, East Jessimine, Woodfrod Co. , Clark Co, Montgomery Co, and all the gilrs who attented Blue Chip Camp. We not only did we lose a great teacher but a better person, he may be gone but will never be forgotten. My condolences to his family.
