I know Ryle has been the best team in NKY for years but why are they still being voted for in this poll. At best they are the 3rd best team in NKY, do coaches even try to get these things right.

Scott County went down tonight to Louisville Holy Cross

Where the heck is Notre Dame??? Clearly the best team in the 9th and definitely able to compete with several of the teams on this list. Same thing happened in basketball this year and we know what they did in basketball!!

With what looks like only 17 coaches voting, it's kinda irrelevant now. Plus, the 9th only has 4 coaches that are members, so you can't expect much love from the home front. Only 9th region team many of these voting (western KY) coaches have seen is probably Ryle, at the state tournament, so they'll default vote for them. That's my best guess.

 

I'm slightly surprised by the Holy Cross win over Scott County, but not shocked. HC is a solid team. Had Ballard beat, but couldn't close the deal giving up 5 with 2 out in top of 7th at home. Dropped a Sun. afternoon game to Mercy 1-0, and hung with Male through 7 in an 4-1, 8 inning loss early in the season. Maddie Raye has been pitching lights out. I

 

This time of the year with all of the outside distractions, it's hard to predict which team is going to show up anywhere. I saw it the other night with the whole "Senior Night" thing prior to the game, then the game starts and the girls are out there in a coma. I have to think Regions Week falling at the whole graduation/end of school time, a coaches biggest challenge would have to be keeping 25 teenage girls focused and on the same page even more so than any strategy or game plans. Geez, it's probably like herding cats at a laser show during the good weeks!!

With all do respect to the voters I wouldn't have a clue on how to vote bc we never see or here from these teams, about the only way you can look at it is to see who beat who.

The ninth and tenth are paired up right? Start beating some of the teams on the list and you will get the respect you deserve right?

I think bourbon beat Boone 21-7 with a lot of there JV after the first couple of innings. For most of the season Harrison County got more votes then Bourbon, and Bourbon beat them 10-3. You are correct the 9th and 10th region do play in the first round of the state tournament. So I guess we will see how that comes out.

I definitely believe Bourbon County is really good and should definitely be in the top 25. No one needs to convince me of that. They are a really solid team, however, I would not say they are the best in the 9th at this time. The only team they have played in the 9th this season is Boone County, and yes they beat them pretty good, but that was over a month ago. I think Boone is a much better team now than they were then, just as Bourbon is too. Did Knotts pitch that game? I'm not sure, just asking the question, but I do believe they have made some changes since then. It will be a fun game to watch in the first round of the state tournment when the 9th plays the 10th. I am looking forward to it.
