  1. In my Beavis & Butthead font... He said "Nice Package" heh heh heh.
  2. I think this is the lamest post I've ever read on BGP! Says alot more about the poster than it does about the Bwood Seniors. I follow Boone County and only had the opportunity to see one Beechwood game this season, but I have seen many of those kids play over the years. That senior class had many great football players & there is no shame in losing a close game to another football team. duke42 you need to grow up!
  3. Give Boone County some love then. The Rebel Defense held SC to a season low 16 in the semi's.
  4. Hard fought game. Boone's defense was again very stout. SC got loose on its first drive of the game & a crazy couple plays before half. The difference in the game was SC's defense stopped BC on at least four 3rd & 2 or less opportunities. SC also blocked a punt & BC snapped a ball over the punter's head for a safety. Cannot give this Boone County team enough credit. Expectations from the "experts" were very low, but this team had a bunch of kids who had other ideas. The seniors on this Rebel team displayed incredible leadership on the field. Schwartz, Reynolds, Rodriguez, Hiles, Ganster, Thompson, Curry, Hymore, Vires, Howell, Mullins, Cain, Stuck, Sanchez... These kids are what High School football is all about. Things are looking up in Florence!
  5. Boone is practicing in the morning. Not the 1st time, but 1st time for this group of players.
  6. If we talk long enough I bet we can figure out a way to screw both teams on this call....
  7. SC has played much tougher defenses than BC so far this year and should probably be expecting to have an easy time on Friday. In fact, I think the BC boys have decided not to practice this week because they are content with their season and don't really care about making the state finals. I mean they would have to play Trinity and everyone knows they wouldn't have a chance anyway* *this entire message was typed using a sarcastic font.
  8. I think with the Boone County win last night & the manner in which Conner lost (decision not go for 2) I would have to vote for Rick Thompson for NKY Coach of the year. Going into this weekend it was neck & neck between Trosper & Thompson. There is no team still playing that had lower expectations going into the season than Boone.
  9. Seemed like there were as many Boone supporters as Lafayette fans in Lexington. I was surprised there weren't more Lafayette folks in attendance. I will say the folks at Lafayette were excellent and very gracious hosts.
  10. WOW! Those are amazing numbers.
  11. Way to Go Warriors!!! Very impressive season. Players & coached should be very proud of the season they have put together.
  12. BC defense held them to 43 yards of offense & 6 1st downs. Wouldn't be surprised if it was negative yards from scrimmage in the 2nd half.
  13. They played to win the game. Time of possession was in Boone County's favor. The Rebels moved the ball very well on the ground. Other than a few drive killing penalties, they played mistake free until a muffed punt w/ 2 min left. The only points the team has given up in the last 2 games was when they tried to throw the ball. The team won the game, Defense, Offense & Special teams all contributed to a team win. If they need to throw to win next week they will, but this week that was not the plan.
  14. Boone's defense which has been very good all season has picked a great time to be playing its best football. Don't know how many yards they gave up, but other than the long drive that ended with an int in the end zone they gave up very little. This was old fashioned football. Props to the offense too. Boone was never forced to throw other than the 2-min drill at the end of the half, so they chose to play smashmouth. I can't remember a pass attempt the entire 2nd half.
  15. I agree with raiderbird on this one. An objective look shows a declining program with players choosing to leave the team... 19 Juniors in '10 -> 13 Seniors in '11. 23 Sophs in '10 -> 18 Juniors in '11. That is at least 11 Juniors/Sophs that decided not to come back to the Raiders for their Senior/Junior year. This is a fairly dramatic drop. How do you explain this...
  16. What was the deal with the decline in numbers this year? As I heard it, just a rumor, but a ton of kids who had played in previous years didn't come out for the team this season because of the coaching. I do know that for a school the size of Ryle the roster was small before injuries and tiny after...
  17. Really, I have heard a lot of people say Conner is a surprise, but I expected them to win their district & make it this far. The team has a ton of talent all over the field. They played a difficult non-district schedule. Everyone should have expected a slow start w/ the talented Soph QB improving as the season progressed. I just don't see their performance as that unexpected, not to take anything away from the team or the coach, quite the opposite.
  18. I would like to rescind my earlier prediction that the healthier team will prevail. I have seen the light and agree w nky Harry team w most points will win this game.
  19. I like Conner this week as long as they have legs left after last week's track meet. Conner 34-20.
  20. Understood. I pick the healthier team because they are healthier than their less healthy opponent. Don't think I can lose on that prediction...
  21. What are the injury situations for the teams? As close as the first game was, I can't help but think the healthier team wins this game...
