Did Conner run up the score on Franklin County?

Featured Replies

84 to 48...

I know it was close in the first half but the Cougars ran away in the second half. 84 is a ton of points. Did Conner run it up or was Coach Trosper doing the right/smart thing by continuing to score in this Arena League shootout?

Nope. Not when points are being scored like that. They didn't even get to a running clock.

Is this a serious question? It was 42-40 & 56-48.

56-48? Sounds like Conner decided to play defense late.

Since when was a 36 point margin running-up the score?

When you score 84 points.

Agreed. In this case, 84 points sounded like it was needed.

It is not running up the score.

If the game was 84-0 and then they gave up 48 by the scrubs, then that would qualify. In this case it was 56-48 and they pulled away and secured the win by 36. There is no way to reasonably call that running it up.

I guess I am asking anyone that was at the game where the last couple of TDs by Conner needed?

I am good with everyone's opinion. 84 is a lot of points and any other time we would all be on the "ran up the score" bandwagon but this looks like the exception to the rule.

Are they the only team in the state that gave up 48 points and still won?

No. There was not a safe lead in this game until late in the game. Conner took knee on the 2 to close it out.

With a team like FC they intend to score on every play no lead is safe. They could score at any time. It was not running up the score. Taking a knee on the 2 yard line to close it out is not running up the score, especially when you could have broke 90.

NO it was not running up the score.

If you can score 84 on an 11-0 team....then by all means go for it.
