Did Conner run up the score on Franklin County?

:lol:Is this a serious question? The heavily favored Franklin County team vs the 'ole Conner Cougars turns out to be a surprising game and therefore, you feel the need to start a thread about it. Always trying to stir things up.. Typical from you, Guru. Obviously neither team had a standout defense, you have to score to win the game, that's all that matters. Franklin County was undefeated and the top scoring team in the state. Come on, give me a break...:banana::laugh:

As I explained to someone recently, if the score had been 28-0 Conner in the 4th quarter would we be asking if they ran it up to go up by 35? Only if they were doing it with triple reverses, and flea-flickers, or throwing for the end zone as time expired.

Same margin against a team that, unlike my above scenario, showed they could score quickly.

Zero chance this was running it up.

Had they not taken a knee it would then be a fair debate.

Always trying to stir things up.. :

And?

yeah sure. They should have run the ball more. ;-)

And there is no reason to.

Legit question since anyone hearing 84 points scored thinks "running it up." Once you then look into it you realize it wasn't.

Conner's margin of victory was less than..............HHS,BW,NCC and HC. Give me a break.

Yes, but 3 of these 4 played their JV/Frosh 2-3 qtrs...apples to oranges. My 1st thought wasn't the amount of points scored...it was how many pts were given up. I thought this score was from an AAU Bball game accidently posted in this forum.

Congrat's to Conner!

84-6 would have been bad, but I don't know. Needed to see it and kinda wished I did. Refs/Chain Gangs got a work out.

Had Franklin Co. puller their starters, I am confident Conner would of done the same.

Holy cow! 132 points? Did both defenses play with 10 players?

Fine line, maybe, between "running up the score" (84) and "running up the margin" (36).

It is in no way running up the score. In a game like this one you having to keep scoring until the final whistle blows. I don't care if Coach Trosper would have scored 100. Also, it's the playoffs, you have to do whatever it takes to solidify a win, even if that means running up the score.

But, I am from the mindset, that if you can score 84 and you can score that the right way (with reserves, etc. playing) then go ahead and do it. And if I get beat by 84 then, I will be watching a ton of film to get my defense better and in better positions.

Either I'm not following you or your two statements contradict each other.
