  1. Good win and glad this one is over. Green has a great football environment and possibly the best kept secret in KHSAA football in running back Evan Jaggers. Kid is lethal in the open field. Ads looked better than the previous two efforts but still have yet to play four quarters of football. That must change in two weeks. Somerset does not surrender much on defense and has just enough offense too win against struggling teams. My guess is though that the Jumpers will find themselves by then and be firing on all cylinders.
  2. You can be assured Green want catch Danville by surprise. This year's senior Ads remember the last trip to Greensburg quite well. Green Co. gave DHS one of its worst defeats in school history 61-22. A lot has changed since then, but the humiliation of that defeat serves motivation not to overlook anyone.
  3. Danville needs a good showing heading into their open week before district play. Green is always up for the Ads and this game is no exception. The Dragons are more than capable of the upset, particularly if they get their ground game going. Having said that the Ads should win by 12-16 points. A perfect test prior to starting district play against Somerset.
  4. Nice win for the Rebels. Good luck in district play!
  5. Going to have improve off ast weeks perfornance. Corbin outgained the Ads and controlled the clock for the most part. Danville needs to keep developing their young RB's and find more balance with their passing game. Based on last years track meet win (48-47), the Ads will have their hands full. It is also scary to see what Somerset did to the Warriors a few weeks ago. SW will want to take it out on Danville if they get the chance.
  6. Maybe. This weeks game will tell us more. If Danville struggles against S'Western, a team that Somerset destroyed, then there will still be some question marks heading into district play soon.
  7. Thanks! I enjoy the effort Corbin plays with. Win or lose you know what you are going to get when you line up against them.
  8. Just curious. What kind of history does Someset and Corbin have playing each other?
  9. A little of both. Corbin played hard and showed more emotion. The Ads were not there mentally except for the start of the 3rd qtr. A lot of flags in this game so it was difficult for either team to get a good rhythm going. Corbin has a good passing game and some solid runners. If they can get a bit more disciplined (motion penalties killed them) the Redhounds can make some noise this season. The Ads have to get back to the mental focus they had last week against Boyle. Not the best effort by far but winning the game is always a good thing.
  10. Ads are flat so far. Halftime score is 14-14. Corbin taking it straight to the Danville defense.
  11. Not a do or die game imo. Unless it is a district game, scheduling against strong competition is always a plus, providing you don't get too beat up, even in a loss. I look for a rebel rebound. BC 35 JH 21.
  12. Corbin doesn't score a lot of points and plays solid defense. I'll take the Ads 33-14.
  13. I habe been impressed with Russell County thus far.
  14. I agree. I thought the Jumpers might be down a little by losing so many players, but they appear to be even better this season.
  15. Playing at home I see another shutout. SHS 28 - Hazard 0.
  16. Nope. Why would Boyle do that when they have dominated the series in recent times?
  17. Based on what we have seen so far I would place Somerset or Owensboro Catholic at the top. The next 3 weeks will tell me more about the Ads. Playing Corbin this Friday at home who has played three close games against good competition to start their season. Following that will be a home contest with S'western, a team that Somerset totally dismantled and a team that Danville always struggles with. The last pre-disrict contest is a road game with an intense, new rival at Green Co. Survive those three first and then we will see if the Ads are for real. We haven't heard the last from NCC/CHC either in my opinion. I don't know enough to speak about Glasgow or Murray, but I am certain they will have something to say about their half of 2A.
  18. Proud of the Ads! This game had so many shifts in momentum. I was optimistic only being down 6-0 at the half. The word was that Boyle was prone to second half fatigue. To their credit Boyle made a fantastic comeback. If the game went to OT with the shortened field I would have to have given the Rebels the advantage. It was puzzling to see so many fans leave with a quarter left to play (I don't get that). For me the lead could not be enough based on BC's tradition of come from behind wins. The line doing their job and ball security were the keys. This game should rank for consideration as one of the best between these two historic programs. Good luck BC with your season! You will get it turned around. These are the games that pay off in the end.
  19. It's on now! Civility just went out the window. Lol!
  20. Winning at GC is no easy task. Frankfort may be a better team but Green Co wins this one 26-20.
