What's the attendance been like at Sweet 16?
The state already has a proposal for classification. You would have a final four for each classification followed by the 4 class champions playing for the outright champion. Its time.

Open Job: Lexington Christian Academy
The 11th region is a legitimate All A region except for LCA: enrollment for each is under 350 students. Easier I suppose but a school with 400+ students has only won it 1 time in the last 6 years. Probably won’t be any easier, Frankfort has a lot of young talent on the way. I expect them to make a run for the next several years.

Signs that the "Sweet 16" is Thriving or Declining
I think it is time for classes. You would get more people involved across the state. You could still have a one true champion, just play a final four with the class champions.

How are girls getting seen? High School, AAU, recruiting sites?
If the high school coach is worth anything it would be them contacting schools and sending film.

Brianna Burbridges 51 points, 25 Rebounds, 10 steals vs. Danville 2nd All-time
Coming off of this performance, BriAnna moved to within 19 points of former UL guard, Chris Current, for the All-time leading scorer in Frankfort basketball history. Earlier in the year she passed Sabrina Gordon, Tennessee State, to take over the girls top spot.

Not a shocker to have middle school players on the bench, class A schools have to do it to survive. Maybe not every year but it is a common occurrence out of necessity.

Frankfort 77 Danville 74
No both shot a fair amount. BriAnna Burbridge records 51 points, 25 rebounds, and 10 steals for Frankfort.

Frankfort 2015-16
Frankfort returns one of the best players in the state in 6'1 Sr. Guard BriAnna Burbridge: 27ppg, 11rpg, 6 steals pg, 4 assists, and 3 blocks, along with 5'11 Center Jasmine Turpin 15ppg and 10rpg. Helped by young but experienced guards in Freshman pg TT Barnett and Shaylen Washington as well as sophomore SG's Ellen Williams and Kaylee Tillman and Scott Co. transfer Haley James. Turpin will be helped in the paint by 6'3 sophomore Grace Yocum and 6'2 Freshman Lexi Allen. Should be a good year for the Lady Panthers as an All A favorite and to compete in a district that has one of the best teams in the state, Franklin Co.

Has HC rendered the All-A meaningless?
The All A will always be dominated by the bigger Class A schools and private schools. It has never represented what it was intended to represent. Even if you limit the size, private schools will dominate but lets face it a public school with 300 students is not the same as a private school with 300 or it shouldn't be if they are doing it right.]I think it falls to the school, as a Northern Kentucky boy, I disliked them but I respected Highlands/Cov. Cath for playing up in football. They had the enrollment to play lower but knew they had the talent to compete at a higher level. I totally agree with a prior post, bringing up the regional dominance of private schools like Brossart, New Cath., and St. Henry. In the 11th, I believe only 4 years have been won by someone other than Lex Cath, Lex. Christian ( 14 years in a row), Sayre. It would be interesting if private schools were not allowed to attend, well at least the ones that hide behind their enrollment.

Congrats to Frankfort's Brianna Burbridge for a 54 point 15 rebound performance
Contrary to the other post it is only a single game scoring record,a 43 point performance previously held the mark. Brianna is second in all time points behind Sabrina Gordon's 2100+. Brianna if she stays on pace will be a couple hundred short entering next season.

Congrats to Frankfort's Brianna Burbridge for a 54 point 15 rebound performance
Congrats to junior guard, Brianna Burbridge, for her 54 point 15 rebound game against a good East Jessamine team. It eclipses a 40 year old school scoring record and her personal best since her 40 point showing against Western Hills earlier this season.

The All-A Tournament is . . .
Does any of this really matter? The larger and private A schools dominate this tournament year after year.

Frankfort 2014/15
You all seem to be very interested in little Frankfort. Last year's team was full of freshman and sophomores, including Burbridge. They too were coming off losing their starting five. I think Burbridge will be fine without your professional analysis. Their coach makes sure that the girls are seen by colleges. They have 5 out of the last 11 graduates playing in college, how many does Grant have? Their only senior this year, Yocum, has already signed with Lee's McRae. Their pg, Morgan, who had 12 assists on Saturday, is getting ready to visit the Univ. Of Tampa, post player, Turpin, who had 12 and 8, will visit Birmingham Southern. Their other starter Morton is just a sophomore. Burbridge will be fine. She received high marks at the National PG camp and interest from Cincinnati, Xavier, and UK. Letters in the mail mean nothing but email, frequent hudl veiwings, and making sure they are courtside at multiple camp games, speaking to her afterwards, mean a lot. BTW, I do believe Grant plays these little talented girls around the same time this season... I guess we'll see.

Should high schools build up their numbers at the expense of the middle schools?
I'm not sure where this is coming from but most central Kentucky schools have remedied this by having the middle school season take place from August til October. The girls can then supplement the high school program.

Frankfort 2014/15
The Lady Panthers return a young but experienced team that should be a favorite in the 11 region All A and a contender for the 41st district. They return a solid starting five led by D1 recruit, junior, Brianna Burbridge. She has led the Panthers in scoring since 8th grade and is moving in on 2000 career points. Along side her is the lone senior, Lee's McRae signee Jayne Yocum, 2nd leading scorer and rebounder junior center, Jasmine Turpin, junior point guard, Jade Morgan, and Soph. Guard Sibre Morton. While overlooked by many, these Lady Panthers will definitely be a force to be reckoned with this season.

Top Incoming Freshman & Sophomores
Soph. guard, Sibre Morton at Frankfort, will be a player to watch. She has good size, strength, and incredible athleticism.

Glasgow 53 Danville 43 All "A" State Finals
It seems really sad that "Big" school supporters get on here complaining about the ALL A STATE CHAMPIONSHIP. Why would you truly care if they have their own tournament? Private schools aside you are admitting that you have no idea how hard it is to build a competitive program with a 1/5th of the girls or less than larger schools have to choose from. To me it just makes Kentucky High School Basketball even more special.
