mcpapa Posted October 9, 2014 Posted October 9, 2014 Basketball season for 2014/2015 should provide another exciting year. What should we expect from Frankfort? Remember, please be constructive.
NormanDale Posted November 1, 2014 Posted November 1, 2014 The Lady Panthers return a young but experienced team that should be a favorite in the 11 region All A and a contender for the 41st district. They return a solid starting five led by D1 recruit, junior, Brianna Burbridge. She has led the Panthers in scoring since 8th grade and is moving in on 2000 career points. Along side her is the lone senior, Lee's McRae signee Jayne Yocum, 2nd leading scorer and rebounder junior center, Jasmine Turpin, junior point guard, Jade Morgan, and Soph. Guard Sibre Morton. While overlooked by many, these Lady Panthers will definitely be a force to be reckoned with this season.

Because my daughter's team played them in late Jan.- early Feb. And beat them by like 23 or 24. I didn't see anyone that night on that team that remotely looked like a D1 prospect. Not bashing just curious
dribbledrive Posted November 13, 2014 Posted November 13, 2014 I'm a little fuzzy on what game your talking about. What team does your daughter play for.

KYTNGBB Posted November 19, 2014 Posted November 19, 2014 Burbridge is a Division 1 caliber prospect. But, she's literally all they have according to what I saw this weekend.
OpieTaylor Posted November 19, 2014 Posted November 19, 2014 Burbridge is a Division 1 caliber prospect. But, she's literally all they have according to what I saw this weekend. Is this a projection or is she actually being recruited by D-1 schools?
KYTNGBB Posted November 20, 2014 Posted November 20, 2014 I talked to the dad & according to him she's being recruited by D1 schools. & I may not know a lot but she sure looked like a D1 talent to me...
Dixiefan1 Posted November 22, 2014 Posted November 22, 2014 I talked to the dad & according to him she's being recruited by D1 schools. & I may not know a lot but she sure looked like a D1 talent to me... If she is that's great! But if you talk to the dad again ask him if they are getting letters of interest from programs or actual offers. The most common misconception people have is they think if the kid gets a letter of interest that they are being recruited..they are not... the letter is usually a questionare that coaches send out to compile info on a potential prospect. Until they are asked to come visit the campus or are invited to a "camp" or a "showcase" (evaluation), or are offered either in person or by letter, they are a long way from being recruited. I know this because it's my job to know. KYTNGBB I WOULD LOVE TO TALK TO THESE PEOPLE. I can evaluate her amd find out exactly where she is in the recruiting process. if they are interested have dad respond to this thread and we can go from there!

Well, you must be a VERY important person in the world of HS girls basketball!
NormanDale Posted November 22, 2014 Posted November 22, 2014 You all seem to be very interested in little Frankfort. Last year's team was full of freshman and sophomores, including Burbridge. They too were coming off losing their starting five. I think Burbridge will be fine without your professional analysis. Their coach makes sure that the girls are seen by colleges. They have 5 out of the last 11 graduates playing in college, how many does Grant have? Their only senior this year, Yocum, has already signed with Lee's McRae. Their pg, Morgan, who had 12 assists on Saturday, is getting ready to visit the Univ. Of Tampa, post player, Turpin, who had 12 and 8, will visit Birmingham Southern. Their other starter Morton is just a sophomore. Burbridge will be fine. She received high marks at the National PG camp and interest from Cincinnati, Xavier, and UK. Letters in the mail mean nothing but email, frequent hudl veiwings, and making sure they are courtside at multiple camp games, speaking to her afterwards, mean a lot. BTW, I do believe Grant plays these little talented girls around the same time this season... I guess we'll see.

I'm sorry if you or anyone else took it like that.
NormanDale Posted December 2, 2014 Posted December 2, 2014 So KYTHGBB, how many class a schools have multiple D1 prospects? Besides Jayne Yocum, literally has already signed to play at D2 Lees McRae.
KingLow Posted December 2, 2014 Posted December 2, 2014 So KYTHGBB, how many class a schools have multiple D1 prospects? Besides Jayne Yocum, literally has already signed to play at D2 Lees McRae. Does Frankfort? Are the schools you mentioned NCAA Division 1? I haven't heard of most of them you have mentioned.
NormanDale Posted December 2, 2014 Posted December 2, 2014 That was my point, it would be an awful special class A school that would have multiple D1 prospects. Let alone any school. They do however have a D2 signee and 2 D2/NAIA prospects.
