Per KHSAA you have to play 2 halfs during the playoffs. And the bottom line will be the score at approximately 9pm Friday.

I know you can't strictly rely on scores but WV lost to Holmes by 2tds. NCC scrimmaged Holmes and I believe it was 24-0 at half. Holmes was blown out by Ashland, NCC beat Ashland earlier in the season. I know teams get better during the season so things get be a little different. I have seen both teams play and this one shouldn't be close in favor of NCC. WV is very well coached by Coach Barth and staff, they just don't have the guns IMO. In this case size doesn't matter. Lol

Their is 0 disrespect in calling it a hobby. They help shape young mens lives, are positive role models, and most have the trust of the families involved. Its something the coaches decide to do for the love of it, not money, in some cases no money. I dont believe i insult anyone when i call it a hobby, by definition it is. Great respect for them. My original point is the sensitivity thing. You want to tiptoe around an issue because its that big a deal? C'mon man! Lol. If its that important it should be open for public scrutiny.

Tenured teachers have to do something really bad to get fired and one of them is not losing football games.

In the big picture, the grand scheme of the things it's a hobby. Don't get me wrong, I know exactly the type of time they put in but a hobby is an auxiliary activity. For 99.9% of coaches they have a real job and coach for the love of the game. Just like you love your puzzles. The 99.9 % of coaches would make 10x -20x that working at Walmart for the hours they put in. I can sell a paint by numbers art piece for more than they make and that's a hobby. Stop with the sensitivity, I feel like you need a hug.

The sensitivity on here is hilarious. This forum is a huge barber shop.....that's its purpose.....entertainment. And you said it yourself in your post, its a high school football coaching job. A hobby. That's the lets not keep score mentality that is making everyone a bunch cry babies. Its a forum for high school football topics. If a football coach reads these gets upset, I bet he's not a very good coach so he needs another hobby.

It was actually a really nice day out last year if I remember correctly....not that it matters.

The secret is that the west winner still will have one more game to play. I can't speak accurately on the west football teams this year until I see them play. And I doubt those from the west have seen many east side teams. With that being said I understand that there is some real good football being played in the west this year....much better than most years. But to make that assumption is foolish. The team that most people are expecting to come out of the east is NCC. They lost 4 games. Three 6A schools and a 5A school. Go ahead and make your state championship game the west semi final and it may just come back to bite you.

Fun breakdown. NCC players shouldn't read this and need to stay focused on the big prize.

Seeing Ashland in the first game of the season... I say they are the better football team but it's not a give me game.

I love these rankings! From these rankings and posts about teams being head and shoulders better than the rest I think AD from the state semi final out of the west should contact the KHSAA and see if they can have the 2A trophy mailed to them and not show up on Dec 7th.

Good to know! So whoever wins that semifinal won't have to worry about the following week. Better hope the players don't have that mindset.

How about this: the Diosese asked originally that none of the catholic schools play on All Saints Day. NCC spoke to BW and they simply agreed to a noon game because of the fundraiser. The Diocese then made it a none issue after NCC and BW agreed and it never came up again. If you want change write your local congressman, priest, bishop, athletic director, or principal. Or nominate BW administration for a Nobel peace prize but I don't think they think it's a big deal. This in response to justsomeguy.... I didn't tag it.
