  1. I could see more coming with the newer developments. From my understanding, limited kids and teens attended Dayton living behind the flood wall. But I could see that improving with the changes. It would be interesting to know how many kids and teens live in the more newly developed areas. I do know that homes had been selling in Dayton better over the past few years with buyers moving in too.
  2. I don’t have much on specifics, but will post as I have more information. There should be some more leadership for the coming season based on the amount of freshman players two seasons before and from last season. The field house is also completely done now. Everything is in place at Greendevil Stadium and academics have really gotten better compared to what they were at another time. No one can argue that they don’t have the facilities for it now. Between everything, it will be interesting to see how they do with numbers moving forward and keeping players that have left for other schools over the years.
  3. Kennedy will be a junior. He’s a really good running back. If the OL is better, I look for a big season for him.
  4. They will be strong in the backfield. They have good running backs, a lot will depend on their improvement at the offensive line and on defense. They have been young the past couple seasons and did have very few seniors. They took their lumps the past two seasons and showed some improvement last season. Fort overall improvement and to have a better record, OL and defensive play will have to be better.
  5. Mercer swung strongly and connected. Congratulations to them and Coach Burns.
  6. Yes sir, last watched it on there a couple years ago.
  7. Yes, Jason Skirvin was running back for them at that time. It was one of the most balanced and athletic teams that Dayton ever had. I believe that Skirvin is still the best running back Dayton had at the high school level.
  8. I couldn’t agree more. That game was for the state championship for 1A that season. That was one of the most electric environments I have seen for a high school football game, playoffs or not.
  9. While this isn’t a good statistic, it isn’t a surprise to me and I could see this trend increasing.
  10. At minimum. Head football coaches do A LOT, and there’s a lot more involved outside of the sports side of things, which is broad enough alone. This is the case for coaches of pretty much all sports now.
  11. I looked at and read this whole thread. Very many gems in these football team pictures over time, loved seeing all of them!
  12. With the OL coming back, I think that they will be as good as last season, maybe better.
  13. Michigan is clearly the favorite but there’s no way UConn can be counted out with their record in championship games. If Ball is out for UConn, that will definitely be a huge miss for them and maybe too much to overcome, but stranger things have happened before.
  14. Arizona has found their match to say in the least. Michigan has looked very good to this point. And UConn is playing in their third championship game in 4 years. They will have their work cut out for them against Michigan or Arizona.
  15. That didn’t surprise me, I expected that to be a good and close game.
  16. If no one thought Dan Hurley wasn’t the best coach in college basketball, hopefully you do now. I’ve thought he’s been since his back to back championships. Duke had the better team, Hurley out coached after halftime, unquestionably.
  17. It might be uh oh time for Duke. Win or lose, I expected UConn to make a strong push to finish.
  18. It’s been men versus boys for Michigan and Tennessee. I strongly credit Rick Barnes for his coaching job in this tournament though. If anyone beats Arizona, Michigan has the best chance of doing it.
  19. Arizona dominated the second half and Purdue had no answers as the game went on.
  20. I hope St. John’s does win. I didn’t pick them to but will be happy for them if they do.
  21. It’s going to take a complete game for anyone to beat Arizona. They are too good to get sloppy with and I don’t know if that will be enough. I was pretty strong on Duke winning it all but I think Arizona’s chances are looking very good.
  22. Arizona is looking really good.
  23. I agree. UNC , UK, and Kansas are miles and miles away from what they once were. Duke is still as big, if not bigger. UConn has been well above UK and UNC. I know many don’t want to think or hear it, but the B1G is taking over as an overall conference for sports, at least in my opinion. And the same could be argued for the Big XII in basketball. Another hot team in terms of a big job is Houston. I do believe it’s Kelvin Sampson’s son’s job when he decides to hang it up.
  24. The Big Ten teams have come to play, no one can argue that.
