Dayton finished 3-8 last year.

A young team I believe they had 2 Seniors last year.

They will be strong in the backfield. They have good running backs, a lot will depend on their improvement at the offensive line and on defense. They have been young the past couple seasons and did have very few seniors. They took their lumps the past two seasons and showed some improvement last season. Fort overall improvement and to have a better record, OL and defensive play will have to be better.

Kennedy will be a junior. He’s a really good running back. If the OL is better, I look for a big season for him.

My bad even more impressive!

I don’t have much on specifics, but will post as I have more information. There should be some more leadership for the coming season based on the amount of freshman players two seasons before and from last season. 
 

The field house is also completely done now. Everything is in place at Greendevil Stadium and academics have really gotten better compared to what they were at another time. No one can argue that they don’t have the facilities for it now. Between everything, it will be interesting to see how they do with numbers moving forward and keeping players that have left for other schools over the years.

I could see more coming with the newer developments. From my understanding, limited kids and teens attended Dayton living behind the flood wall. But I could see that improving with the changes. It would be interesting to know how many kids and teens live in the more newly developed areas. I do know that homes had been selling in Dayton better over the past few years with buyers moving in too.

Sorry for the schedule not looking better organized. Didn’t post the way I typed it lol. Games of interest to me are when they play Ludlow, Bellevue, Western Hills, and Iroquois. I would also like to see them play Newport better based on their past two seasons results. Dayton played Western Hills closely and lost at Iroquois last season. I believe that how they do in the mentioned games will tell more of what to expect from them in potential postseason games. I also believe that their results of the first 2-3 games could be indicators based on returning more upper class players this season.
 

I don’t have information on numbers but a few returning players are Malachi Kennedy, Mykah Foster, Elias Lopez Torres, and Landon Harris. Regardless of numbers, it’s going to greatly depend on how much the offensive line and defense has improved.

My Thoughts?
This is a team I will have my eye on this season with the production they return and staters back. This team returns 3,170 yards of offense. They return 10 staters defensively. The quarterback returns too. So you’re looking at a team that has very good potential to be a dangerous team.

I don’t disagree with you. They have the potential to have a good season, the players are there unquestionably and they should be more mature defensively after the lumps they took the past two seasons. Another positive is that they don’t have a lot of seniors.

I think this team could win 6 or 7 games this year. If they find away to win those 6 or 7 games I think it could lead to them possibly having the momentum going into 2027 to win as many 8 games the most since the 2007 Dayton team went 8-2.
