    The 1 and 2 play in the same bracket. The 3 and 4 have to go to the 1 and 2 in the other bracket, so if CAL and Desales win their first round game, which they both should, Desales will play at CAL in the 2nd round. Same thing happened last year and Desales won.

    Have to go with CAL on this one. It is on CAL’s home field and CAL has one of the top rated defenses in the state. They are giving up less than 10 points a game and they have played a pretty tough schedule. Three of the 2A teams they have played are ranked in the top ten. Only two teams have scored more than 20 points on them. (21) twice, once by Male and once by DeSales. CAL 21 Desales 14

    I think CAL has a legitimate shot at it this year. One of the stats that stands out is their Defense. They have averaged giving up 10 points a game and that was while playing 3 2a teams in the BGP’s top ten, along with a good 6a and 4a team. Then on the other side on the ball they are averaging 27 points a game. Their defense will keep them in tough games.

    Looks about right to me. I think the #3 DeSales vs #2 Green County is a upset game of the week if we want to call a #3 beating a #2 an upset. #3 Lexington Christian will give #2 Leslie County all they want also.

    I think this looks about right. I still wonder about Bardstown, DeSales and Glasgow. They all have played some very good games with a few head scratches thrown in to keep us guessing. Week two and three of the playoffs will sort these teams out.

    This looks about right. I think DeSales vs Bardstown and Danville vs LCA are the games of the week for the 2A class. CAL and Somerset both had statement wins last week.

    I would think that DeSales would be the favorite even though it is on Bardstown home field.

    District 4 will get sorted out this week with CAL at DeSales and then Bardstown will get a chance at redemption next week when they play DeSales. The District 3 game with Green at Glasgow should be for first place in the District.

    This was a complete domination by CAL. Bardstown’s offense was built to get outside and out run the opponent. I don’t think Bardstown has faced any team with the overall team speed that CAL has and they didn’t react well. Most of Bardstown’s yards were picked up by their QB when the play broke down. I don’t know what grade his is in but he appears to be a special athlete. The score could have been worse. By the mid 3rd quarter CAL was slowing down their play and working the clock. Bardstown scored with 30 seconds to go in the 4th quarter after CAL had done some major substituting. The district will get sorted out in the next two week as CAL and Bardstown will have to play Desales. We will see then if this game was a fluke, if CAL it the real deal or maybe Bardstown is not that good.
