Even though Bradley had over 100 yards and a score against Ryle? Over 100 against Boone, 100 against Campbell? 100 against Holmes.. But those aren't good schools right? The kid can flat out play. The only big school he didn't have a good game against was SK.. a game he didn't play in.

Serious as a heart attack. Cooper returns Bradley who can be argued as either the 1st or 2nd top back in NKY this season. They return all their receivers who have now played together in the offense for 3 years. They will have a new starting QB in Morris(assuming the job is his) that is not only a threat to pass but run, not to mention they lost only two starting offensive linemen from this last year. Beechwood is a class act program and an extremely successful one. I'm not saying that Cooper would kill them when they played, but it certainly would not be a three touchdown victory. I had the chance to watch Cooper play Holmes last year and had it not been for a late kickoff return to seal the deal for Holmes, that game could have gone the other way.

I understand that but in 7 on 7 there is no offensive line. The QB has pressure on him. It is essentially backyard football with plays. Just because you do well in a 7 on 7 does not mean you are going to be an amazing team. You line has to block to be able to throw and run the ball. Especially if you plan on throwing passes that are longer than 6 yards. If you decide you're going to do three step drop passes, the defense's will accommodate to that and change the defense to stop the short stuff. It all starts in the trenches my friend.

Maybe three touchdowns better than Newport but they are no way 3 touchdowns better than Cooper.

You cannot judge a team based on 7 on 7 tournys. I have seen teams like Bellevue in a 7 on 7 and show up and go 5 wide. Just doesn't happen. Not to mention the lack of a defensive pass rush and an offensive line being in the QB's vision.

Not disagreeing with you here as Lawrence is a great athlete, but games are won in the trenches.

I went to a few Ryle games last year and I have to say that Elliot definitely has football speed. Not only that but he is one tough kid. Best of luck to him this season.

Anderson may have lost a lot but the quality of athletes in Ohio will still make up for that. I just do not see that being close. I do think Boone will be a very solid team this year compared to last year. On a side note, does anyone know what is going on with the QB situation? I know there was some drama over a certain player getting the nod but I haven't heard much since then.

I agree with you. Anderson is a Division I Ohio school that competes for the state championship every year in Ohio. I don't think there's anyway Boone stays close in that one. Football in Ohio is better than football in KY.

Was he ever clocked prior to the UK time? What method was used at UK? Was it a hand-held watch or the laser digital time? Each method obviously has it's flaws. If Oppenheimer never ran a 4.8-4.9 I will be the first to admit I was wrong. Give him credit? What have I been doing? It's not like I'm bashing the kid, heck I think he's one of the top 3 backs in NKY! I'm just saying I don't think he's that fast, but if he is I'll admit my mistake and move on. No big deal.

Not really? As you see by the way I worded it, it IS POSSIBLE to increase your speed over time, but it seems HIGHLY UNLIKELY. Maybe he has done it and if so I'm happy for the young man and no matter what I wish him nothing but success.

What's the reason? The reason is a highly doubt that a high school program knows a trick to drop a kids forty time by that much. I have seen Oppenheimer run in games and I just don't see him as being that fast. The kid is still a tremendous talent at the RB/FB position and will continue the tradition of successful Boone backs. I'm honestly not trying to offend anyone here I'm just stating an opinion. If he is working his tail off in the off-season, good for him. He is taking an initiative that sadly you really do not see out of the youth as much today as say 20 years ago.
