  1. Is it safe to say that this class might have a different state champ every year?
  2. Don't be so quick to count out Cooper. They are growing fast and developing talent out there pretty quick. What makes this even more exciting is that these two rival schools will now probably play each other every year for the 1 and 2 spot in the district.
  3. You're right, beating Conner and Cooper this year and beating Ryle last year means you are starting to own 6A. I've got news for you, 6A in NKY is better than 6A in Lexington... You guys really shouldn't be this arrogant until you've got the hardware.
  4. I agree with this 100%. Kids play with more passion and it makes the game so much better to watch than giving 0-10, 1-9 teams playoff spots. I have always looked at football as a sport that prepares you for real life. When you get knocked down, do you lay there or get back up? Things in real life aren't going to be given away, you have to earn it. The kids should have to earn a playoff spot not be given one. This "everyone gets a trophy" era is garbage. Prepare the kids for life and make them earn it instead of making them feel good about themselves now and then when the real world comes and they get stepped on they don't know how to handle it.
  5. So basically Ryle's special teams are the only reason they have won the last two weeks??
  6. I feel this could be beneficial for both Conner and Cooper. Cooper will now be able to establish a program without having to have kids know that Highlands will eventually take the district. I see Conner and Cooper competeing for 1 and 2 in this district. Although I really don't know a lot about South Oldham...
  7. Don't feel bad. Cooper hasn't really gotten love either. Everytime they play someone close, that team is terrible or something is going on within the team. I wouldn't worry about it. Let the haters hate.
  8. I would love for you to find a staff that doesn't have a c-o-l-l-e-g-e student on it. Most of the times, these are coaches that you want. Younger guys who can relate to the kids and bring in new ideas to the staff.
  9. Very valid points. I think another thing is people may not really believe yet that Cooper has developed their players and are a team that shouldn't be overlooked. Not to mention they have a very strong sophomore class so things are looking good for Cooper in the future.
  10. He's just one of "those" fans. The guys that like to get under everyone's skin to try and get a response out of them. Best of luck to both teams and let's hope both teams leave the game healthy and intact.
  11. The correct term would be a football player with down syndrome. People first language! A great story though! I remember seeing something like this a few years ago too.
  12. Beechwood wins, but I am very excited to see WV continue to grow and develop as a program!
