  1. Wow that's a big boy! Best of luck to him! I haven't seen him play but I will definitely stop by a Dixie game to see him play.
  2. Was he ever clocked prior to the UK time? What method was used at UK? Was it a hand-held watch or the laser digital time? Each method obviously has it's flaws. If Oppenheimer never ran a 4.8-4.9 I will be the first to admit I was wrong. Give him credit? What have I been doing? It's not like I'm bashing the kid, heck I think he's one of the top 3 backs in NKY! I'm just saying I don't think he's that fast, but if he is I'll admit my mistake and move on. No big deal.
  3. Not really? As you see by the way I worded it, it IS POSSIBLE to increase your speed over time, but it seems HIGHLY UNLIKELY. Maybe he has done it and if so I'm happy for the young man and no matter what I wish him nothing but success.
  4. What's the reason? The reason is a highly doubt that a high school program knows a trick to drop a kids forty time by that much. I have seen Oppenheimer run in games and I just don't see him as being that fast. The kid is still a tremendous talent at the RB/FB position and will continue the tradition of successful Boone backs. I'm honestly not trying to offend anyone here I'm just stating an opinion. If he is working his tail off in the off-season, good for him. He is taking an initiative that sadly you really do not see out of the youth as much today as say 20 years ago.
  5. While it is possible to increase your speed over time, it seems highly unlikely that he could drop his forty time from the 4.8-4.9 range to a 4.5-4.6 range. College athletes go to these speed camps down in Florida to go from a 4.4 to a 4.3. It just seems highly unlikely though that Boone is doing something different that is dropping a forty time by 3-4 tenths of a second. As I said before, it will be exciting to watch him play this year and I wish him nothing but the best of luck! :thumb:
  6. I could understand a round robin on a multiple field setting, but one field?! Come on parents, think about what you're putting these kids though!
  7. I know I went to a few Boone games last year and he carried the ball some, but no way he was 4.6 fast. Maybe 4.8-4.9 but not 4.6. He is a tough athlete though and from what I saw very hard to bring down. Best of luck to him!
  8. Heard from a source close to the team that Indiana is showing a lot of interest in Bradley.
  9. Yea i'd say he's 6 foot with cletes(sp) on. He is a very strong runner though. Not the fastest back but very strong.
  10. Went to 2 Cooper games last year and watching Devonte Bradley run. Wow can that kid run. Heard he is getting some looks from some Big 10 schools (probably for defense). If I'm correct, he had over 2,000 rushing yards last season. Also, Elliot from Ryle has to be in the mix. Big, strong kid who runs tough and can flat out lay someone out while he is carrying the ball. I'm excited to see where both of these young men end up. I believe these two will be the best backs in NKY this coming year. I might give the edge to Elliot though because I've heard this kid is one of the hardest workers in NKY.
  11. I completely agree. A wise coach once told me that parents tend to see with their hearts and not their eyes. By no means am I trying to bash parents though as they are always a huge part of programs. Just starting to notice that parents are more worried about their son/daughter playing than them learning the values of hard working and being able to work and support other members of the team.
  12. I honestly don't think the Astros would take this trade. Maybe if there was another young player thrown in there they might but I just can't see them going straight up.
  13. Not so sure they will beat any of those teams easily. Sounds like a bit of homerism if you ask me. I wouldn't call SK overrated either as they return a lot of players I believe. Even without Simpson they will still be a force in 6A. I can honestly seen Boone finishing right above Campbell in 6A this year.
  14. I agree with you. Knowing Blake personally, he has someone who has been around the program, knows the ropes, and we all know the Clary's are rooted deep in Ludlow. Blake would be a fantastic hire for the school and like you said, make the transition very easy for the students. All three would be great candidates though. Can't wait to see what the Panthers do!
  15. I know coach Stamm personally and Conner is getting a fantastic coach. Coach Stamm will demand respect and hard work from the players, but he will make you all winners! Congrats again Coach Stamm, I'm sure you will be missed in Ludlow!
  16. I certainly do not want to hijack this thread since it is about Boone, but I am looking forward to the Cooper Boone game and hope it turns out to be a great one! :thumb:
  17. I heard today that Bieger is going to be on his way out @ Cooper.
  18. When I say super class, I'm talking all of the best teams in one class, not just private schools. So Highlands would play in this super class as well as a St.X, Trinity,...
  19. I voted 6 but I want to change to 5. That's 4 regular classes and then the 1 "super class".
  20. I was pulled over twice when I was younger and was honest with the officer and told him that I knew I was speeding... I still got the ticket lol.
  21. I'll say Boone is going to struggle with Cooper also. Last year, Cooper initially had the momentum but shot themselves in the foot when they were inside the five yard line. Another problem last year was Cooper's lack of ability to be able to throw the ball. I feel this year Cooper has a very good chance to be able to pass the ball a bit more with Morris at the helm. Well, assuming that he is named the starter during summer practices.
