  1. Wish all the games had this type of stat program accessible on the internet ! Nikki Kiernan continues to be an impact player as a freshman! Looks like NCC fans will enjoy watching her become a top NKy player over the next few years.
  2. Enjoyed watching her play several games! Still talk about that last game at Campbell Co and a couple of legendary bad calls to end that game, season, and career at PHS for her and the other Megan. Congrats to her!
  3. Some of the BC/Ryle debates got kind of heated last year. Guess it's a gentler and kinder BGP this year. . . Go Rebels! Go Raiders! (See, no controversy here!)
  4. I agree in theory, but I wonder who thought this same thing about Newport last year before they cut down the nets at NKU?
  5. Gray 7th grade boys hard to beat when they come to play. Last two games ugly for 8th. Gray girls 6th graders dominated Ockerman. No 6th grade team has beat them this year. Gray 7th grade girls still undefeated; playing @ St Henry MS Friday @ 8pm - weather allowing! Very tough to get a full week in for middle school basketball this year. . .
  6. Turkeyfoot 8th grade boys defeated Gray and Walton to win their own tournament last night. Gray 7th grade boys win over Turkeyfoot to win the 7th grade Turkeyfoot Invitational. Both Championship games were down to the wire.
  7. This game was the opening round. http://www.goerie.com/apps/pbcs.dll/article?AID=/20101229/VARSITY04/312299938/-1/SPORTS
  8. VMA, Pennsylvania's AA State Champs last year defeats Ryle. Crittendon with limited playing time, 3 points. Jump, 11 points.
  9. Don't forget about girls MS basketball. Conner and Gray 7th grade girls are both undefeated, after each beating such teams as Twenhofel, Highlands and Walton. Woodland only team to give them any trouble - Woodland 7th grade girls are 8 - 2. IMH girls also undefeated at last check. Will be fun to see how the BC area girls do against each other in January. Gray 6th grade girls are also undefeated, no one coming close yet. They are playing up in St Henry tourney in January . . . Some good 8th grade girls teams, too, but none seem dominant.
  10. Conner MS indeed has some nice players coming along, especially 7th grade . . .
  11. Gray boys play at Newport tomorrow. . . Hopefully no police will be needed! Their 7th graders beat Highlands tonight. Gray girls swept Highland girls all three games. Gray 6th and 7th grade teams are both 9-0. No close games really.
  12. Raiders win a close one. Jenna Crittendon injured as the game ended.
  13. I believe Beechwood beat Gray's 7th grade, also, but the Gators were without Moss for that game. Gray girls 6th and 7th crushed WV girls, but WV 8th grade girls returned the favor. 6th grade Gray boys won, 8th grade WV boys won.
  14. Well, there you go! No wonder they are so good! Imagine if northern ky had that? Gray (7th grade) should feel pretty good about their victory last Friday. . . The Lex Cath "middle school" BB schedule looks much the same as any other MS schedule except quite a few tournements . . . http://lexingtoncatholic.com/sports/basketball/bbasketball/msbschedule.htm
  15. Lex Cath has a middle school. The 8th grade is very big and very good. Don't know about Stanley, but heard it is possibly season ending. Hopefully not.
  16. 8th grade Ockerman and Gray both got beat up by Lex Cath. Ockerman's stand-out Stanley has a serious injury, didn't play. 7th grade Gray boys went 2 - 0 (vs Lex Cath, then Woodland.) They have 2 BIG guys plus some other good kids. They are a team to watch.
  17. Boys this week-end 11/5, girls next week-end 11/12 for Erlanger Classic.
  18. http://www.nkmsaa.com/basketball This is the site for the middle school league for Northern Kentucky - Boone, Kenton, Campbell. Also, Grant Co MS and Pendleton MS. There are some private schools in this as well, but not all of them. . . Last year anyone could look at the schedules and standings, but right now it seems to be password protected. Not sure what's up with that . . .
  19. More like a linebacker than wide receiver!
  20. Ockerman 8th grade boys will be tough to beat. Gray 7th graders look good, too. Thad Moss is a boy giant for the Gators. The girls from Twenhofel won the 6th and 7th grade NKMSAA championships last year, looking to repeat as 7th and 8th graders. Wonder if those girls are involved in AAU or does Twenhofel have a really good program? 6th grade try-outs are widely attended by new middle schoolers, but the numbers are MUCH smaller for 7th and 8th. 30 to 40 for boys? Less than 20 for girls? Depends on the size of the school. Some girls teams don't get enough trying out to field a team - have to borrow from lower grades. Kind of sad.
  21. Sounds like NDA will have a strong freshman class, as well as NCC. And with some SSS players at Cooper, perhaps the Jaguars will begin building a program to compete with the other Boone co. district schools. What about Turner (Holmes?) and Beal (Holy Cross?). Are they incoming freshman?
  22. Didn't realize that. . . Seems unnecessary as most really competitive AAU teams seem to hand pick from a much broader pool of talent. Unlikely that there would be enough super players in the same age level from one school to get an advantage. Also, seems pointless to make a team split up in high school after maybe playing AAU together since elementary school. . . This would be really tough in KY for the smaller towns and counties that put together aau teams. . .
  23. Guess we are in agreement; my experience with coaches and their kids playing on the same team have been all good. A parent/coach might even be harder on his own kid.
