The only ones I've seen much of are Lenox and Gearhart. They do a creditable job.

Pouncy very deserving, has worked very hard at his craft. Congrats.

Why do some regions get more than one offical. I thought each region sent one?

Tommy Hutton from the 14th region has called several state tournament finals. I was told if he calls the finals this year it will be a record for the most officiated championship games by a referee.

 

 

Also, why does the 6th/7th regions and the 10/11th regions get only one referee and others like the 13th and 14th get two?

I'm sure that Lenox being listed as 10/11 is a function of being a member of the BBA.

I too am glad to see James Pouncy get a whack at the big show.

 

He's worked hard to reach the top of his professional.

Yeah, Scott does really well. In the past the 12th region teams have struggled in the state, which has allowed some of our refs to get to work late in the tournament. I love to be at Rupp on Saturday night and see a familiar face in stripes on the floor.

I can remember about 5-6 years ago where the BBA (the 10th and 11th region) didn't have a representative in the Sweet 16. I'm sure it's one of those bureaucratical things at the KHSAA Office.
