  1. Three with the option of 4. It isn't about winning immediately, but it is about building the program from top to bottom. I have heard they have a little league program and a decent middle school program, but the main thing is to get quality coaches in the building at the high school and the the community need to welcome anyone that is hired to coach to come in and work with their children and doing it the right way. I heard that the high school has only 3 coaches, is this true? You can't be successful with just a couple of coaches and missing certain coaching points because there is not enough, you need to get quality coaches, not just good people who never have played a down.
  2. I have heard that Carter could be on the hot seat. Can anyone enlighten us on the situation?
  3. Does CAL still run the option attack? I know they did a good job at it last year
  4. Congrats to Russ on his first win as Head Coach. I hope this a building block for him and the team.
  5. What did Ft. Campbell lose from last year? What does LCA have coming back besides the big OL - prospect? I say LCA by 15
  6. Rowan by a lot. They have more athletes and probably will be coached better. Morgan is a spin of off Estill Co. running their offense which is a clock control based O. Special teams from RC will be huge. My thoughts are based on that and I say RCSHS will win by 35 points.
  7. This sometimes gets drawn out to what is right and what is wrong, but the reality of this is that it is a business and business people move around and take other jobs for certain reasons not matter when. People take jobs either because its a "dream job,' challenge or closer to home, but things happen for a reason. Granted it is a rough situation, but good administrations and programs will find a way to adapt and overcome the odds they are put in.
  8. I don't see why they won't allow Denny to stay with the change occurring now. My question is, does he have enough on staff to get through the season?
  9. From what I know, Russ has a degree, its just not in teaching and he is working on a teaching cert. A lot of coaches are already certified teachers, but some work on a cert in an area (special education) to get a position in the building. Each person has to start somewhere and Russ will work hard to make things right. Congrats!
  10. I heard that the guy they hired may have some college experience in a quality program!
  11. As a soph Polson was weak, but after playing football his Jr. year, he got more physical and tough. This past season he didn't play football, but he developed his skills more as a basketball player and it shows. With an opportunity at UK or wherever he goes, he is going to be a kid that will not cause trouble, has a strong academic profile, and will work hard to develop into his role whatver it may be.
  12. This is nothing but a great Kentucky thread. We praise kids for their performance on wins and criticize on the down side. It's amazing to me that as a Kentucky fan you boo and harp about a kid’s performance but yet we don't realize that these are young men that are learning. UK has a shot to win if the O-Line blocks, the receivers run good routes & catch the ball if thrown to the (make a play) and the ball is delivered in the window. Not every recruit will be a NFL draft or free agent, but with the coaching staff working hard, coaching harder and out scheming opponents and big plays, No matter who the QB is. It amazes me that UK fans are hypocritical :sssh:
  13. He is an academic kid, so he will have his school paid for that way.
  14. That is good because what they have now, is a very hard surface.
  15. I just read that Jamie Reed accepted the coaching position. Is this true? Can anyone give details about this guy?
  16. Sam Harp is a quality man first. Secondly, he is a great coach and father figure to a lot of single parent, low socioeconomic students, which he gets their best and he helps those kids at least be successful while at DHS. He has a great winning record and tradition at Danville and it comes from the support of the administration, parents, community of the Danville School System. There are many things that we as fans don't see that coaches do behind closed doors to make their program be successful. Sam is a man that I would trust my son with at any given moment and not question anything. As for the Boyle program, Smith brought Boyle to a new level and respectfully their administration has been in full support of their football program and in all sports. Boyle dresses over 100 kids on Friday nights and each are apart of a winning program and from the outside looking in; it’s amazing to see this. I am a fan of both programs to be as successful as they can be, help young men learn to work hard, achieve goals individually and as a team player, and represent the county and city we all share in a positive manner. Coaching takes a lot of time away from family and it takes not only the head coach, but the entire coaching staff to reach out and work as hard as they can to help the head coach be recognized. If it weren't for all the coaches from little league to the high school, both programs would not be where they are. No matter what school you are from, we teach respect and sportsmanship. I hope that all fans of this great game will lose their ego and realize the importance of what we have here in the County. Eventually each coach that is successful and has accomplished about all he can at a school, sometimes the challenge to stay on top is what motivates Sam Harp and each coach, but Sam should be allowed to walk away when he is ready. Good luck to all each school in Boyle County/Danville and the surrounding schools. We are blessed to have such great football in this area! :thumb:
  17. :thumb: I guess we'll find out a few minutes after it is confirmed. 2:30
  18. Not CHOP block, but simply a cut block. It is allowed in certain states and at the college level. There is a rule that allows to "cut" block in the tackle box, but I would say its open for the whole field. To me a CHOP is more pron to injury someone than a regular cut block. Allow back to cut out of the backfield and down the field.
