Beechwood has to keep the turnovers down, rebound, hit shots and play defense to win! Then again so does Dixie! I think it will come down to coaching. Can Shumate get the better of one of his old employers for a second straight year. Should be fun to watch! I think Daniels hits a drving lay up with 3.2 sec left for the Win!

:dancingpa:dancingpa Beechwood has change the banners around some, and refinished the gym floor. They put up some basketball banners, state champion banners, DIII division banners etc, New lights. The administration appears to be trying to be supporting the basketball programs at Beechwood. Strange how that happens when you put people in the stands! :banana::banana:

Just thought I would get everyones input on who is playing wheer and what tourneys might be fun to go to. The Lloyd tourney in NKY is a good one! Well ran, good teams and some great early matchups. I know Holmes, Campbell County, Newport, Bryan Station, Conner, Beechwood, and obviously Lloyd are some of the teams. Lets hear about other tourneys in you area.

Thought I would put this out here for fans to find out where and when their favorite teams are playing and what tourneys might be fun to catch. I know the Lloyd tourney in NKY is going to be fun to catch. Some good early matchups!

Kohls is the best point guard I have seen this year getting to the bucket and finishing. Hits his free throws. Beechies didn't have much of an answer for him last night it does not appear.

Going to be a tough season for the Tigers. Need to keep the faith and play hard. Younger guys need to listen and learn and get better as the season goes on. I think a foundation can be built and the program will grow from there

Hey Wally, It is not my gym! I do not have any connection with the Bellevue basketball program whatsoever! Just a fan of sports. And a fan of a good rivalry, which this is. If the score board doesn't work properly then i am sure it will be fixed. I have an idea, Every one say one thing postive about each communiy or school and then we can all hug it out at the end! I will start! I think Bellevue is a small community school with great heart and the desire to be champions. Dayton has a nice gym, and a cool marina on the river! There now everyone join in!

JB I think you are just a sore loser supporting a program who is on a down cycle. Give the kids their props. As far as coach Eckstein goes I am sure he would love to discuss his strategies with you concerning the game of football once you admit you know nothing about the game and are willing to learn. I have seen Dayton football field. Could be the worse facilities in high school football, step up clean up your house! Does it even have running water! Now lets get back on the basketball forum and leave last fall behind, get Coach E next fall when he has a dog in the fight.

I said that the teams would be drooling to play the tigers after they gave up a 52 point half, nowhere in the above statement did I say they would have a snowball chance of beating them. The Tigers put up some impressive numbers themselves. Just anticipating the mind set of the DIII teams after seeing the box score!

Yeah Shumate can lend years of experience, he does seem to be getting a bit long in the tooth!

I think they should just block of the Avenue for about a half mile and let them all just go at it, last one standing is the winner

A Coach needs to worry about keeping his own house clean before getting upset with another programs kids. This rivalry is heated both sides know it, deal with it in your own house accordingly! I feel like Rodney King on here! Why can't we all get along!:banana::jump:

Not sure about the rule, it is usually a numbers situation or if the senior has never played etc. More common to see that at small schools. As far as you saying it was the Bellevue players intent to hurt the Dayton player, unless you know the facts to what happened on the court that is a tough statement. Also I am sure that the Dayton player was no Angel in the situation either. It is a very heated rivalry between these schools, and I am sure it was one of those games where it was no blood no foul!:bunny:

Heard this score was 39-12 at the half Beechwood. If that is true then the Tigers gave up 52 points in the 2nd half, OUCH! Sounds like some defensive work needs to been done in practice. The DIII teams have got to be drooling for a chance to play the Tigers after giving up those kind of points!:puke:

By small, I mean in number of students! There is this horrible thing in Indiana now called class basketball. They are a 1A school(small class). They finished in the Final four last season losing to Triton who then lost to Jac-Cen-Del. Did not say they were not a quality team, they are an above quality team, probably better than any team Holmes faced all of last year. But at this point in time i do not feel Holmes is the same team of a year ago. Still working on their chemistry together with some new players and the biggest issue they have is depth. That being said, I like Newport, they have matured, and appear to have jelled to this point, they will see Holmes on the 14th, i will be there, and might see them again in the Lloyd tourney. Gonna be fun season for the 9th I think!:popcorn:

I saw Newport play all summer, seen their preseason scrimmages and now some game action. They are legit. Holmes lost to a Small prep school Bowman Academy from Indiana in only their 3rd year of organized basketball over the weekend. They have some work to do, so there just might be a chink in the bulldogs armor for the wildcats to trounce on

Could be one of the best games of the year in the 9th region! Newport is loaded this year people do not let anyone fool you. Upset special for Christmas.

I think they practiced defense with the mimes the night they played Newport!

One word to describe the Wildcats this season S-C-A-R-Y. We will see how good they are when they play on Dec. 12th and 14th and 22nd. I say they win two of three if not all three. :isurrender:

I agree they must win 1st. Looking at the Tigers schedule it is tough for one of the NKAC DIII teams, Holmes, Cov. Cath, Holy Cross in district. Highlands, Dixie, Conner, NCC, Campbell Co in the LLoyd tourney to open it up. They usually play Ryle. Comparing the other DIII teams schedules none of them play this type of schedule. 14 games on the Tigers schedule are locked into playing DIII schools. Maybe that is why when Beechwood losses to a great team in a game that was a very good game except for a stretch of about 3 minutes in the 3rd quarter, people take notice and give them praise that they deserve. It is not like a 4 pt loss to a mid level 9th region team that people thought they should win!
