Saturday morning you can catch the up and coming players in their league, and have been able to for years.... Nothing wrong with it, but it's not like the staff was blind to the talent they were about to receive.

Do you seriously think that the freshman that were moved up were moved up solely because of summer ball ? I'm pretty sure this coaching staff has been watching at least one of these freshman for more than a year....along with a lot of other coaches.

I'm not necessarily disagreeing with you, but what we don't know is how the playing time discussion was handled by the players prior to exiting the team....that would be telling to the remainder of the story.

I suspect that this is where you lose a lot of people who may have been sympathetic to the cause.... I also suspect you have at least 1 freshman that is better than those that exited the program, so maybe they took a peek in the rear view and decided they could make themselves better football / baseball contributors based on that....although I suspect you may have a reasonably good footballer in that mix as well.

Where did I say that getting in a JV game doesn't make you a better player ? I fully understand what JV games are for, however, I also fully understand what JV Program is for....development....which includes practice and being a part of the team to be involved in practice. If your approach is that these kids were "practice dummies" then they weren't really going to be next level in your mind anyway, right ? Let me ask you this: Is playing time on the JV level more important than development at the Varsity level ?

So your saying pay to win regardless but don't develop kids and get them ready, these boys are sophomore's and one junior. If that's the mentally and you know your not gong to play them then cut them and save them from wasting their time being practice dummies. Those boys had talent why not work with them on getting better then? Being a "practice dummy" is where you get better. Do you think coaches keep every kid on the final roster thinking they are going to contribute significant game minutes ? "Cutting them loose" doesn't help your team. Keep the best that come out, knowing that the bottom 6 - 7 are the ones who make your starters better, and while they are doing that, in practice, getting better themselves. If a kid doesn't know where they rank in the talent pecking order they have 2 choices: Get Better and Move Up, or quit because...well, because they are quitters. Quitting in the middle of the season, not ok unless a family emergency situation or abuse that involves actual administrative involvement.

There seems to be some flawed logic here: If you aren't good enough to play V as a junior, then you don't get to play until you are better, AND you don't get to play JV ball...because that's for Freshman and Sophomores ? Then how do juniors get better, and if they don't, then don't you have a talent gap the following year...(assuming no juniors play V) Some teams just have great depth at the Senior level and Juniors are playing JV to get better....

Most frequent issue with fans, at times, coaches.....agreed this behavior can be chicken / egg. If officials use the tools available to them, most games are very manageable if the officiating level is matched to the game.

This thread is like deja vu all over again…..POY is a Senior Award….let's get all the hate and discontent for that aspect of the award out of the way and name the seniors in the 10th that are eligible...

You make my argument...BC "could have beaten a couple teams..." but didn't beat who they needed to in order to get to the Region. Your "quality of game" argument holds no water. High school teams do not play each other solely for the purpose of you being able to see a "good game". If BC had beaten who they needed to, irrespective of Bailey Cummins individual efforts, they would have been able to see if they could have beaten "a couple teams in the region". Flawed logic: BC should have been able to get to the region, not to win it, but see if they could have beaten a couple teams. Does not sound like beating the best to be the best...sounds like backing in to potentially beat a lesser team.

Yep, no problem at all. If you think that the NCAA doesn't make those matchups intentionally you are missing it. If, in the case of high school district seeding, you are a team that is confident you are the best, then who cares if you seed or play your way to the finals. Here's the rub: If you don't believe you are the best, then you are willing to settle for 2nd (first loser) as a means to get yourself to the Regional tournament. How does that make any sense ? The argument being made is that it is unfair because the 2nd best team may get eliminated....if you were 2nd best, you were never going to be the winner anyway. Stop playing scared, play the best, beat the best, be the best....very simple

I'm sure your angle is always better than anyone else's.....but ultimately this is spot decision. If you can say 100% that this player never so much as even looked in the general direction of any opposing player while clapping, then I'll say it could be a questionable call....my guess is that you may have overlooked proximity, timing and game situation....but I'll go with that always.

Which is your position, from the stands I assume. Easy call from not anywhere close to the play....but go with that, I'm sure you had a much better angle to it.
