  1. Wow you guys are getting all bent out of shape. I was not bashing your team at all. I was simply stating the defense looked good, but may be vulnerable if teams can throw. So teams like Dayton and Bellevue who are run heavy will struggle. However, Beechwood is just so good up front they'll be fine, plus they are so good with play-action that they should hit some homeruns. As far as offense Frankfort is just not the team from past few years. Good Luck, but it's a tough road to get to Western when you have to go thru Beechwood and then if lucky enough to do that Mayfield. Bellevue will probably be a dog fight.
  2. 7-0 after first quarter and 28-0 at halftime. 49-0 Final. Frankfort scored 21 in second quarter all on defensive touchdowns. My summary of the game. Frankfort is very one-dimensional. They can't throw the ball, which will kill them against Beechwood. O'line is not very good. They fumble way too much only lost a couple though. Obviously have some athletes that can make some plays on offense. On the defensive side of the ball they fly around, but will just get pushed off the ball by Beechwood. Pretty good run defense. It appeared they are susceptable on pass defense too. Several times Dayton had wide open receivers just could not get them the ball. 7-0 and Dayton had receiver with no one within 25 yards of him and he drops the ball. The thing that will definately be Frankfort's achilles heel will be sportsmanship. Too many personal fouls to count. That will catch up to them. It was not just last night either. I saw it in a few other games this year.
  3. Well Dayton only has 18 available to play. Injuries and ineleigible for grades. Seven kids are not academically eligible. Coach Montogmery even does a study hall too. Obviously those kids gave up. He can't hold their hand. He has kept them eligible all year and they finally decide to do this in the playoffs. That's incredible. Slap in the face to the program and especially to the players(seniors) and coaching staff.
  4. Game much closer than score. It was 14-6 with 4:35 to go. Dayton drops pass in endzone and receiver was wide open. Turnover on downs on 11. Carroll breaks of 80+ yard run. Then teams trade scores all under 2 min.
  5. Not saying Montgomery is a bad coach. I played under him when he was an assistant. I think he is a good coach. Just thought he was going to be good enough to pull off the Bracken, Ludlow, and especially Bellevue game. I know they're better than years past, but that is not saying much. The program has not been very good the last 10 years except for 2007. As far as giving him time I just don't see the program getting better. I mean their pee wee program has not won a game in years. They had to fold their senior team(jr high) this year because of a lack of participation. Knowing coach though, he'll do whatever it takes to make it better. Just don't know if it will get better. The first thing coach has to do is keep Dayton kids in Dayton. I heard the school system is in trouble too, which may make keeping kids even harder. Best of luck to the Greendevils and Coach. I'm pulling for you guys. I was just questioning if things would have been different if they gave the job to Coach Siple. He has taken a Bracken program and won more games in one year than they have in 1o years combined.
  6. Yeah. Dayton actually had 5 fumbles and four by same player. They also had 4 personal fouls, which were not all because of sportsmanship. One was a facemask and the other a helmet to helmet hit.
  7. JW I agree I think he is a great guy and will teach these kids life lessons. However, do you think they are where they should be? Don't you think they are better than 1-8? I felt they should be a .500 team at least. Has study hall helped? Why did he even have to implement it? I just thought with the kids he has he would have been more successful. You are right they have been so banged up this year. It has been one thing after another. I have never seen a team have to go through 4 qb's in one year. I'm just frustrated and thought that coach would get it fixed quickly. I guess every coach does need time. I agree last year we were losing by almost 50 points a game. As I said for the most part you actually get to watch a game.
  8. Maybe if Dayton went with Kevin Siple they would be winning. Bracken has 5-6 wins. I really thought that Dayton could go 5-5 this year. They had oppurtunity to do it too. Except they lost to Bracken 22-20, Ludlow 21-14, Bellevue 17-6. Close games I felt Dayton should have won. I thought Montgomery was the guy for the job when he was hired, but maybe not. I'm not saying it's been terrible this year. You can actually go to the game and watch it unlike the last three years, but I think Dayton's record should be better.
  9. I counted four of them all by same player. However that #22 is a workhorse. Yeah there were 4 personal fouls, but two of them were a joke. The other two were legitimate though.
  10. 1966. Beechwood is at the top of Class A football. Wish them luck rest of the year. If they stay healthy it should be another title. Seem better up front than the last couple of years. I think that's why they'll give Mayfield a run this year.
  11. Especially since you seem to hate Chad and Charlie, but there is not a more classy family than the Rechtin's.
  12. Sorry you feel that way. I guess if we said Wilson's that would be a thumbs up? :thumb:
  13. Yeah I used to hate Bellevue people, but Coach Montgomery has introduced me to some good Bellevue people over the years and I guess realized they're not bad people, but people like Dudeabides make me feel like I'm in high school again. Pretty bad a Bellevue guy can't even support one of their own. Makes me think dudeabides is not a Bellevue guy. Everywhere I have ever been they ask me how I liked to play for Coach Montgomery and I tell them and they agree what a great guy and coach he is.
  14. What was your records when you were at Bellevue Dudeabides? I just wonder what teams you played on. No Dayton is now healthy so no complaining here. There is obviously a huge gap between Beechwood and the other Class A schools. Coach Rash is a class act and does nothing to embarass these teams either. Phenomenal team that can run and throw.
  15. #22 is the transfer and was ineligible academics. Plus Rogg was out. No excuses here just think would have been different outcome. Bracken County is doing a fine job. #2 for Bracken County is one heck of a player. #44 #45 are also pretty good ball players. Not sure about their district. I would like to think they could be the #2 seed.
  16. Well great win for the Polar Bears. Coach Siple does a great job with his team. The Devils were so short-handed tonight. The #22 kid was ineligible, which was the difference tonight. He plays probably different ball game, but he did not so no need to dwell on it. Also Dayton's starting MLB leaves team at 4:30 due to some personal issues. Dayton played hard, but still not good enough. Did I see like 8 guys and the girl kicker out for Dayton?
  17. Well Thomas Rogg is out for the game, which is a big blow to the Devils. Working on 3rd QB this year for the Devils. So whoever keeps the ball off the turf is probably going to be victorius. More bad news for Devils, but everyone will have to see on their own. If Dayton does win the Devils deserve a big pat on the back with all the adversity they are facing this week.
  18. That would be good genius cause Dayton recovered it. It was the attempt. I'm sure Dayton kids would love to get ball at 50 yard line.
  19. Newport scored with 3:11 to go in 2nd quarter. Coach Walls had great game plan going into game. 7-0 going into the half. Offensively you could see Dayton wanted to play ball control and i tworked in the first half. Second half was not so friendly to the Devils.
  20. I'm not questioning score just on-side kick. You can't try and deny that. I was sitting right behind the team and could hear Coach Rice say nice try man. I'm just telling you what I heard from my own ears. I would not expect any coach to pull his starters up only 28-0. I remember hearing you cry for years how Ludlow was always getting picked on. Like when Bellevue about 5 years ago kicked on-sides when Ludlow was down 35-0 and you went on and on about how Coach Eckstein was wrong. I ask that you practice what you preach.
  21. Futurecoach, you have your opinion of things. The Dayton faithful have their view on things. Either way great game played by both teams. As stated above no sense in losing players. After losing your quarterback on first play due to very late hit then backup later in game why risk losing more starters due to injury or ejection from players getting chippy.
  22. Coach started pulling their starters because things were getting chippy and Dayton needed to stay healthy and not lose anyone else for the next few vital games.
  23. 7-0 at halftime. Devils played their tails off. 21-0 after 3 quarters. 28-0 Newport scores on Dayton's second string with 5:00 to go. Thomas Rogg the qb and lb was hurt on first play of the game. That hurt the Devil Offense tonight. It was a dogfight and a game most probably did not expect to be played that tight. The score does not indicate how good of a game it was. Devils made questionable call faking a punt on 30 yard line. However I heard the coaching staff say that the punt was to be a rugby kick and kicked out of bounds. However Newport had 4th and 1 and stood Rice up and he pushed his way into the endzone. Newport 14-0. Dayton was beat up tonight physically. I saw a lotok kids limping off the field. Curious as to Newport's onside kick up 28-0 with 6:00 to go in game. Maybe I'm just old school and that is new thing with young head coaches. Just did not understand it.
