  1. Hopefully the parents and fans will not create any jealousy or controversy between Neeley and Gayheart. They are both great kids and have a lot of potential. They can be great compliments to each other and if they figure that out they will have something special together for the next 3 years.
  2. That second scorer may be found in Owen's good crop of next year's freshmen. Some of these girls will definitely be pushing some of the older girls for playing time.
  3. Do these assistants have names? Or how about their schools, do the schools have names? What is the point of posting if you are not going to give out some information?
  4. Congrats Luke!!! This is a great accomplishment. Leave some room in your trophy case for the Mr. Baseball award.
  5. That is a lot of innings on young arms. College teams have a hard time with the pitching issue in their tournaments. There is no way high school teams have enough arms for this.
  6. Rain is always the X-factor in baseball and softball. The system is fine the way it is. The reason these top teams have all lost is because of the regions they play in not because of the fairness of the tournament. All of these teams have lost to other really good teams. It is a geography problem not a scheduling problem.
  7. Huge win for the Defenders. BS has one of the best pitching staffs in the state and it is starting to show. Glad to see Bollmer throw a big game after suffering with injuries for most of the season. Good luck in the finals.
  8. Another disappointing loss for Eastern. Coach Morris cannot seem to get these guys over the hump.
  9. The Dunbar bats are really cold right now. Just got no hit by Henry Clay and now just getting one hit. I wonder if the weather has really affected them or have the Bulldogs just packed it in?
  10. Not sure what is wrong with the Creek. This is unusual for a Fucci led team to not be peaking at the end of the season. Anybody out there got some info for us?
  11. Another big win for LCA. They seem to be distancing themselves a little bit from the rest of the 11th region pack.
  12. Tremendous season so far for the Panthers. Coach Jones has done a great job and the kids seem to have bought in to his program.
  13. Coach Mefford will get the most out of his team and will have another successful season. With an All Region performing, Devine, coming back and plenty of experience to surround her this team will be an All A contender and a 31st district contender.
  14. This will be an interesting year for the Panthers. Although they have some good young talent mixed in with some very good experienced players it will still be very difficult replacing the graduating seniors. Those seniors have occupied a lot of minutes over the past few years. That being said I still think this team will be make it very difficult on their opponents and it should be another ultra-competitive 31st district.
  15. I find it funny that the Gallatin County contingent is always harping on Shelton. Not sure what this kid ever did to anyone. From my perspective I see a kid that dominates the lane on the defensive end, owns the glass and scores double digits every night. I guess those tinted glasses have also shifted to Colligan and Williams. Colligan was 3rd in FG% in the entire state. Hopefully someone will teach him better so he can be 1st or 2nd next year. This is obviously a player whose low post skills are lacking. Williams was a freshmen that played back up minutes on the varsity but when playing showed flashes of being a very good post player. I guess I need to get me a pair of those "blue tinted" glasses so I can see things more clearly.
  16. Who's the host school this year?
  17. I am not sure how there is a Lexington and Louisville bias. Are Lexington and Louisville coaches the only ones voting? Maybe the Lexington and Louisville teams are really good.:idunno:
  18. Eminence is completely overmatched in this district. Every year they have a number of ridiculous scores.
  19. Good win for the Bulldogs. Maybe this will get them on track.
  20. I'll take LCA this weekend.
  21. None of the Lexington public schools are allowed to play Lexington Catholic in any sport during the regular season over the transferring of athletes. Since this is in place the district cannot be seeded so there is a blind draw to determine seeding for the post season.
  22. Eastern is off to another terrific start. Coach Morris continues to do an excellent job with his club. Is this the year they finally get over the hump in the post season?
  23. I don't know that I agree that Dunbar is over ranked. They just came off a stretch of games where they dominated their opponents. I really think the blind draw in 43rd district this year is going to cause a lot of these types of games to happen. Why show anyone your best pitcher when you don't have to. A real shame that the Lexington Catholic situation has gotten to this point.
  24. After getting up 7-0 and knowing that they are playing a rival the next day, I would say that the Flyers got complacent. Very easy for teenage boys to do. I think keeping teams focused throughout the entire season is the toughest job a high school coach faces. That being said give a lot of credit to Owen County for not hanging their heads after a big deficit early and fighting all the way until the last out. That type of fight will benefit the Rebels come tournament time.
  25. LCA is making a strong statement early on to all the teams in the 11th.
