mcpapa
Have to admit, I didn't expect this.
mcpapa
Sets up a final vs. Trinity. I believe Ballard won the district matchup a few days ago in an upset.

thsrocks
The Rocks lost 6-5 and 4-2 in their two games with the Bruins. Rueff will be on the mound for the Rocks. Ballard will have McCombs ready as the Male Bulldogs almost made Coach Gilbert's plan backfire as he yanked McCombs after 6 innings on Monday. Since he only pitched 6 innings, he is eligible to pitch due to the quirky tournament schedule that allows for the extra day of rest. From the KHSAA rule book: If a pitcher pitches in six (6) innings, that pitcher shall have two (2) calendar days of rest beginning with the day following the first day a pitch is thrown. Maybe the Rocks can make Bruins pay for the quick turn around. This is the only sport where a rivalry exists between Ballard and Trinity. The Rocks own the gridiron and the Bruins rule the hard-court.

In addition to potentially not being effective, the young man does have a career ahead of him at UL to think about. I would at most use him to close or to get out of a jam to prevent a big inning early in the game. The Rocks seem to score early....Ballard could start Mcombs, pull him in the second and bring him back as needed.
RoundBallFanatic
Another disappointing loss for Eastern. Coach Morris cannot seem to get these guys over the hump.
sportsfan09
McCombs pitched the district final 5/21 came back 3 days later pitched regional opener 5/25. Will only have 2 days rest for regional final. That's alot of pitches in a weeks time for someone that hasn't pitched that much this year. Right on Park1221 with a kid that has a career and future. Trinity alum
I understand he threw 135 pitches versus Male. That may be, but that sounds like a lot in six innings, considering that he was never in much trouble. I didn't count, but my guess would be more like 100 to 110.
