  1. I think it might have as much to do with whomever he was getting the info from no longer being here. Just a guess.
  2. Nevermind, should have read the entire thread before commenting.
  3. What about Brooks. Loses his starting job to Toppin?
  4. If it's true that his current buyout is 52 million, than he isn't going anywhere unless he chooses to do so.
  5. Only having one taco left definitely calls for a warning. And a great illustration as to what each situation means.
  6. My bracket has UK, Duke, Kansas, and Tenn. Wishful thinking but I want the Cats to get revenge in Philly for '92. I got UK over UT in the final. I so want a chance to play them again. No way Grady shoots that bad again.
  7. According to Wikipedia if completed the XL section of the Keystone pipeline would have increased the capacity of the pipeline by 510,000 barrels per day. If we really wanted to, we could eliminate the need to rely on any Russian oil.
  8. I've seen similar statements. The Japanese were very aware of what problems would come with an attempted invasion onto US soil.
  9. I think that it is a good move from the standpoint of trying to make the game more exciting. I feel like MLB has got to have the oldest fanbase of any of the pro sports leagues. They should probably do anything that they can do to attract younger viewers.
  10. Then you have to factor in the cost of gas, wear and tear on your car, plus likely have to buy dinner as well. (Maybe the schools give the officials a free hot dog or something, IDK) Not much profit after factoring those expenses in. It's definitely something you would do because you love it and not because your making any real money. You could make much more than that in the same time frame delivering for Door Dash and without a crowd of people constantly reminding you how much you suck at your job.
  11. There was a class like this at the University of Evansville back when I was there in the mid 90's. I took it as a PE elective but never did anything beyond using it as a means to get a work study job officiating intramurals. One guy in my class actually pursued a career as a basketball official. Ended up working some NCAA D3 games while he was still in college. Can't remember his name so I can't follow up to see how far he ever advanced.
  12. Unless I'm mistaken your point was that they don't care about winning. Just because it's hard to win a Super Bowl doesn't mean that they don't care. I suppose all owners are making profits, but that's not really a factor as to whether or not they care about winning. I'm sure they would all just as soon win than lose.
  13. The Patriots are an anomaly due to the fact that (As much as I hate to admit it) they had the greatest player ever in the NFL. Robert Kraft has owned the team since the '94 - '95 season. With Tom Brady as his teams starting QB they had a regular season record of 232-72 or 76.3%, made the playoffs 17 of 19 seasons appearing in 9 Super Bowls winning 6 championships. Without Tom Brady under center, their record is 76-69 or 52.4%, made the playoffs 5 of 9 seasons appearing in 1 Super Bowl without a championship. Brady far out performed expectations as a sixth round draft pick. It's not like Kraft made some huge move to acquire him based upon his commitment to winning, he just got lucky in my opinion. I guess it will take a few more years to accurately evaluate whether or not Kraft is truly committed to winning or if it was just the Brady factor, but thus far it seems as if his teams performance is trend back towards what it was in the years prior to Brady.
  14. Since the '97 - '98 season Denver has won 3 Super Bowls. Only New England has more. I guess you can argue that Denver is more committed to winning than over 90% of the remaining teams in the league. In fact only four other franchises, Pittsburg, Tampa Bay, Baltimore, & the New York Giants have multiple Super Bowl wins over that same period of time. It's not like it's that simple to go out and buy yourself a Super Bowl.
  15. Yep and the Starbucks near my home usually has a line wrapped around the strip mall about 20 cars deep whenever they are open.
  16. For the sake of comparison, do you remember about how much ice areas in western kentucky got with the January 2009 ice storm?
  17. I agree. If he is healthy and does not play than no reason to have him dress and sit on the bench. Sounds like they are going to be short handed tonight so might as well see what he can do. He's supposed to be a slashing wing, so if he doesn't quite know the offense, so what? Just clear out the lane and let him dribble drive, that's supposed to be they way Cal wants to play anyhow. I've heard the argument that he didn't get experience from all the non-conference warm up games, well, he's supposed to be the #1 player in his class, correct? So I don't think it's unfair to compare him to Banchero. He only scored 22 in his first NCAA game vs. UK so I see no reason that Sharpe couldn't contribute at some level.
  18. Even if the plot is good, I don't think it could hold up to the original simply due to the loss of Jean Shepherd as the narrator. Without him as writer, I'll have doubts about the plot as well.
  19. I've seen where some hospital are allowing medical staff who currently have Covid to continue working as long as they are vaccinated. I can't figure out how that is supposed to be safer than allowing an unvaccinated person who is not infected with Covid to continue to work, but there have been a whole lot of things during this pandemic that don't make any sense.
  20. That sort of talk could have got you suspended from social media just a few months ago.
  21. The odds are overwhelming in your favor that you will survive an infection. Particularly the current dominate strain. I'd like to see some stats isolating just the Omicron variant.
