  1. I totally disagree with this. What is Geisler doing that Hatton is not? They are neck and neck in scoring, both are the straw that stirs the drink for there teams. They are both shooting a very high percentage, both have scored several games in the 20's and they are on the number 1 and number 2 teams in the region. At this point i do not believe there is that big of a gap between Hatton, Geisler,Thelen and Brown. All of these kids are very well deserving of POY at this point.
  2. Dixie played Friday as well as CCH. Then CCH had to play Saturday morning. So they did end up playing three and Dixie two. However I dont believe that would have changed the outcome of the game. I think Dixie has the stronger basketball club and could have handled CCH regardless of how many games either team had played.
  3. Hatton picked up defensive player of the game and all tourney. Thelen also picked up all tournament.
  4. Does anyone know how many current players in the 9th region have hit their 1000pt?
  5. Dixie shut Cov Cath down in the first half. Unfortunately for the Blue Colonels there was no coming back. Dixie played great basketball in the first half of this game. They were utilizing all of their talent on the floor tonight. It was a good win for Dixie.
  6. Hatton was every bit on the same level as Ryan Taylor tonight. I cannot figure out why the Dixie coach is so affraid to let Hatton take over a game. Hatton scored 11 points in the first quarter and only took one shot in the second in which he had made but he had to create the shot on his own. If I am the coach and I put the water boy in the game and he is clearly putting the ball in the basket at will I would make sure the water boy has the ball in his hands on every posession. Point being if a kid is playing very well at the time ride him untill the saddle falls off period. Hatton was 8/13 for 23 points. I even noticed during the game Hatton telling the coach several times to get him the ball. The coach needs to listen because Dixie will only go as far as Hatton will take them.
  7. Box Score Scott 74, Boone County 66 Boone Co. (11-6) - Stanley 0 4 4, Downs 1 1 3, Boeting 0 1 1, Pitts 0 2 2, Fookes 1 0 2, McQueary 3 2 9, Crabtree 6 2 14, Brown 15 1 31. Totals: 26 13 66. Scott (9-7) - Haynes 6 3 19, Smith 8 6 22, Stivers 6 6 21, Jackson 1 4 6, Roberts 3 0 6. Totals: 24 17 74. Boone Co. 14 10 24 18 -66 Scott 18 18 17 21 -74 3-pointers: B 1 (McQueary); S 7 (Haynes 4, Stivers 3).
  8. Will Dixie be able to contain 6'6 guard Ryan Taylor for Western? He is averaging 27.2 points per game and 13.1 rebounds per Riherds as of Jan. 10,2010.
  9. Any predictions on this game? This is at Scott County for the Toyota Classic.
  10. That is what I was thinking Wingman. It appears the Eagles really have their heads together and must be playing some extremely good basketball at this point. Unfortunately I was not at the game so I cant comment on any details that occured.
  11. Scott gets their fourth win in a row. I was not at the game , does anyone have any details? Good win for the Eagles.
  12. Cooper definately seems to be building by each and every loss they have. I expect an upset game from them. Sullivan is a good coach and expect postive things from Cooper in the next few years. Congrats to the Colonels on another win.
  13. Clyde I dont know if I would use the word "haters" as to I am not sure of the exact meaning. Definately not a word from my genre. However I have seen some negative comments in previous posts. I dont think though that many kids escape some sort of scrutiny about their talent on any forum. I think that just comes with the territory. There are several talented young men playing basketball in Northern Kentucky, that I am sure get some negative comments made about them. This is a forum where everyone expresses their opinions about team/individuals talents. I think for the most part people recognize the positive aspects of all the players/teams. 3FromDeep, I'm sure Hatton appreciates any person trying to take up for him, but I dont think that is necessary on the BGP. Anyone who has any inclination of what basketball is about knows Hatton has talent. As for many other players in NKY. The region is wide open and going to make for some exciting basketball for the next two months.
  14. I would agree Qryche. Regardless of Hatton's age(15) he is an excellent basketball player. I believe he has proven that time and time again. The Colonels have an excellent team and should be a huge contender in the regionals, if their success continues.
  15. Dixie Heights 62, Franklin County 43 Dixie Heights (15-1) - Hassel 4 0 9, Trammel 1 1 3, Stansberry 4 0 8, Evans 1 2 4, Pike 6 4 16, Mooyoung 1 0 2, Hatton 1 6 9, Muntis 3 5 11. Totals 21 18 62. Franklin County (9-7) - Tabor 1 0 3, Clouse 2 0 6, C. Meyer 0 2 2, Timmons 4 4 12, Hamilton 4 1 10, Harrod 1 0 2, Bell 1 0 2, E. Meyer 1 2 4, Roberts 1 0 2. Totals 15 9 43. Dixie Heights 22 17 12 11 -62 Franklin Co. 8 10 8 17 -43 3-pointers: DH 2 (Hassel, Hatton); FC 4 (Clouse 2, Tabor, Hamilton).
  16. I believe this is the first game under double digits. It wasnt that the oppurtunity wasnt there to score, his shots werent falling. It was nice to see some of the other boys pick up. Muntis had a huge game for Dixie.
  17. The Colonels had plenty of oppurtunities to come back and win this game. It was a poor display for the Dixie Colonels imo. It appeared until about two minutes left in the fourth quarter that there was zero momentum by Dixie. They were definately not in synch tonight. Hopefully the Colonels will learn from this loss. With that being said, Congrats to the Scott Eagles for clinching the win. Their fan turnout was great, and their boys came to play tonight.
